legal without a prescription (age may be a factor) - caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and OTC medicine
the remaining drugs the FDA and DEA have classified into schedules, it's based on abuse potential (highest to lowest)
schedule 1 - ALWAYS illegal - examples heroin, marijuana, LSD
schedule 2 - need a special licence to prescribe - examples morphine, amphetamines
schedule 3 through 5 - any doctor can prescribe, many schedule 5 drugs are also available over the counter - examples include from tylenol with codiene to tylenol by itself
as for the names of all the drugs there are...that's entirely too many.
and if you have anything that HAS to be prescribed by a doctor and you don't have the prescription, it's illegal - example oxycontin

You need to be more specific! Tobacco is obviously legal, just as over the counter drugs are. Obviously, street drugs are illegal, as well as prescription meds that are in the possession of a person other than who they are prescribed for.
Do a search on the net and there are so many you'll have your answer.

1) You don't fail a drug test because you were not notified by your PO. You fail a drug test because you are doing drugs!! 2) If he has a PO then he's on probation. Random drug testing is almost always a condition of probation, and is legal. He agreed to the terms of his probation when he agreed to accept probation instead of going to jail. 3) If he were not on probation then no, a school cannot legally submit all students to drug tests. They CAN make your agreement to submit to such tests a requirement to engage in extra-curricular activities such as sports, but they cannot impose it unilaterally. The current governing law is the 2002 case "Board of Education of Independent School District No. 92 of Pottawatomie County v. Earls". In "Earls" the school district made participation in a random drug testing program a requirement to engage in ANY school sponsored extra-curricular activity - sports, band, cheer, even the chess club or FFA. The Supreme Court ruled that the policy was legal specifically because students had the choice whether or not to participate in such activities. Any student who did not want to submit to testing merely had to refrain from the covered activities. Mandated testing of all students would not be legal because students MUST go to school, so making drug tests mandatory would be a violation of the 4th and 5th amendments. Richard

Anything a doctor prescribes and is in pharmacy containers with your name on it, is considered legal drugs. Everything else is considered contraband, or illegal drugs.

Hi,
Well I don' t know why they say alcohol & tobacco are not drugs.
Of course they are !
OK prescribed stuff from a Medico are fine, and have releived me from various sufferings.
However, imported stuff, unregulated, are in my opinion dangerous things to be avoided.
I would say to the class -
"Don't touch any of them, unless prescibed by a Doctor"
All the best,
Bob
