When I hear the term Political Correctness I usually think Liberal, but that is not always the case. There are many people out there who's political devotion varies from Republican to Democrat and inbetweens. What bothers me is how a lot of these people are such crybabies. If an entretainer makes a racial or ethnic joke, why can't people just laugh and let it go, it is a joke. Why do some people feel that they are being racist when they do so. Now I do notice that when lets say a Hispanic comedian makes a Chinese joke, people complain, but when a Chinese comedian does the same joke, it's fine. It should not be selective, if one goes down so should the other, or better yet, let it go. I'm too tired of everyone complaining and trying to censor everything this side of the Atlantic.

As posted in the 'Winston-Salem Journal', Winston-Salem, N.C., 06/06/06:

"Unable to fend off an alleged intruder on her own, a woman ran to the home of her neighbor, Roger Ledford.
But, police say, the suspect continued to pursue her, even shooting the lock off Ledford's side door. As he tried to breach the door, Ledford shot him with a shotgun, killing him.
Police also said the assailant had poured a flammable substance inside the woman's home.

I'm curious to know what those who are against gun ownership would have done in Ledford's place, given there was no time to call & wait for the police to arrive because the guy alread shot the lock off the door and was coming inside.

When it comes to North Korea the U.S admin stresses on talks where as incase of Iran it doesnt rule out the use of force. N.Korea is a nuclear power which defied the whole world by conducting a test but Iran is still a few years away from the nuclear bomb. I would also like to point out that Iran has no wepons capable of hitting the U.S shores where as the N.Koreans have missiles which can strike various U.S. Iran is condemed by only the U.S and few other western nation but incase of N.Korea the condemnnation is world wide. Also the N.Koreans are more likely to transfer Nuclear wepons in the hands of terrorist than iran like it transferred missiles to Pakistan in exchange of Nuclear technology. Given all these factors N.Korea is hardly mentioned by the U.S admin but they go all out threatning Iran, a non nuclear state with consequences which can contain military strike. If I were the U.S id be more worried about N.Korea with Nuclear wepons in the hands of a mad man. Your opinions pls?

During WWII, America produced 300,000 aircraft, 87,000 tanks, and 72,000 naval warships. From a population of 132 million, it trained, clothed, armed, and fed a military consisting of 18 million troops. And, all this occurred only 50 years into the industrial revolution.
If America applied the same dedication today to the war on terror, just how long do you think it would take to win? Just how are we expecting to succeed when active duty troop levels are only 500,000? Is the war on terror a serious commitment or just a circus sideshow?

Seriously. One day I don't know anything about him, the next I see he has two books, a whole bunch of people behind him, and "presidential" inspirations? Are you kidding me? What do you think about this guy? And what's going on? How did it all come so quickly?

I work in my town's public library and had been earning 5 dollars and change per hour until I brought to my supervisor's attention a while back that the new minimum wage - at that time - was $6.15. Fine. They gave me the raise.

Now the NEW minimum wage is $7.15, effective October 1, 2006, I mentioned it to my supervisor yesterday and now, all of a sudden, she says, "these laws don't apply to public libraries."

Is this true? I think she's coming up with excuses because then she said the library just didn't have the budget to pay everyone minimum wage, so I think she's just reaching for straws.

I'd love to hear from those familiar with labor laws, esp in NJ. Thanks!

In order to understand my meaning, I must refer you to my latest blog entry.

I have had numerous questions deleted, but I see others which are simply pure bone-headed ignorance and hate get passed off as legitimate questions by the censors.

http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-riMyW3YwaK34MLyIWgoR2i3UmPvQOQ--?cq=1&p=76

The blog is an example of satire, which has the title "why is it that all white people are racist?". Since it is written by a guy with a white avatar, I would assume people know it's a joke.

So, maybe you think my humor isn't funny. But I cited many examples of non-humor which are just plain hateful. What's the deal? Is real hate ok, but making fun of hate somehow immoral?

Before you answer, I would like you to take a look at many of the "questions" that get posted on this forum. How many biased, unread, illiterate, vulgar, blatantly partisan, and racist tirades get passed off as legitimate?

Is anyone else frustrated by this?

The New York Times reports this morning that they have given up on trying to implement a face or fingerprint recognition system that would check visitors leavnig the country. This would have been a way to track people to see if they overstayed their visitors' visas. I can't tell you more, as my husband took over the paper.

I was born in Canada and came to the US when I was just a kid. When I got here, my parents made us become American citizens because it would be better for our futures in the US. There was a long citizenship process that we had to go through to become legal. I see all of these people from Mexico that are now just jumping the border and living here in the states illegally and no one is doing anything about it. Is this fair for people who actually go through the process? Why should illegals be able to stay if they are not actaully here legally?
