As a single mother of 3 children I work 50-60 hours to support them with no help from the government. I don't have a great paying job, but I make enough to support my family. Why do people insist on helping those individuals who refuse to help themselves. Why do we give to the "poor" at christmas? Why does the goverment support these people? These people need to get a job! When it comes to helping people give to the people who work 40 hours a week and run into hard times. The government should help the people who work to support their families not the ones who don't! Food stamps,WIC,Medical and Job Training should be done away with. Why do I have to pay taxes to help the lazy? When I go food shoping each week it drives me crazy when I have to purchase store brand items for my family and then I see someone with a cart full of name brand items paying with food stamps and driving a brand new car. The "poor" people of today know how to work the system and its time to do away with it!

According to DMV, you can drive in VA without insurance as long as you pay the Uninsured Motorist Fee of $500 a year. Has anyone tried doing this and if so, does this only cover you the driver or the car you are using? How does this work? Is it really legal?

New Orleans knew about the levy a long time ago and did nothing to secure it, and look what happened. Do you feel that our government is doing the same with our borders?

My fiance is in the Marine Corps...He has been in for over a year with three left. He has started developing severe depression, suicidal thoughts, and homicidal thoughts due to the stress and BS of fellow Marines...He went to his command for help and they diagnosed him with some long name, and medicated him, have sent him to chaplain counseling and told him that he is "failure to adapt" on Jan. 15th he has his final evaluation to see what they will do with him. My question is, failure to adapt? does that mean they are going to discharge him? if so, what discharge would it be? and what is his final examination going to be like? I only want him to be ok, and I need to understand what is going on, they didn't even let me talk to him for two days, I didn't even know what was going on....anyone know what is happening? Please help....

If New York or Chicago suffered a significant terrorist attack : Dirty Nuke, Chemical Weaponry, or Biological Weaponry.. .... . then life as we know it in the USA is OVER !!!

Every dollar and every bit of transport of products goes through those 2 cities !! Gasoline supplies would be depleted, countrywide, in a matter of days, food and clothing supplies would also be depleted in DAYS, stores would close, massive unemployment would happen almost overnight, prices of whatever was left would sky-rocket to unimaginable levels. . . .. .. . . .. . .
AND they'd hit us again. . . . .. . . probably quickly !!
AND they don't even need WMD's, just several well-placed bombs, many of them for sure, but it's feasible !!

So why do some think that either this won't happen or just refuse to consider it's likelyhood ????

Obviously, things were not planned well. And thus, are not going well.

And I don't think the American media is responsible for sectarian violence, unsecured borders, or the chaos that began on the unsecured streets of Baghdad and elsewhere in the first months.

So if you're a Media conspiracy theorist wacko (everything would be fine in Iraq without CNN). Please go answer another question.

I'm asking about tactical/policy decisions made or not made by those responsible before going in and invading and since. Current administration and the Army.

If you believe in the anti-gunners' mantra that, "more people are hurt/killed by trying to protect themselves with firearms than crimes/criminals are stopped", would you be willing to visit: www.nraila.org, then use the search window to look up, "The Armed Citizen", and read real stories about regular folks using firearms to protect themselves & others against violent criminals?
Then, would you be willing to objectively look at your own anti-gun beliefs in a new light?

My ex-wife dotted my son's eye. When he got to school they sent the CPS to investigate me. Took me to the jailhouse to question me and all. When they couldn't convince the boy to say it was me they went and asked her. Her alibi was, "He fell into the corner of the couch." So the police dropped the investigation immediately.
What should be done about this? I have asked them repeatedly over the years to investigate repeated instances of abuse and they usually try to flip it over on me. Now if I don't report the incident I am viewed as an accomplice. Is there any proper course of action in all this?

My 12 y/o Daughter was called into the office by the School Principal. He said that he had heard that her mother had hit her. He then continued questioning her for another 45 minutes. Then had her sign a statement.

Is that legal?

Her mother and I are going through a divorce. The mother has in fact stuck her and that's part of the reason we're divorcing.

Aren't they supposed to notify somebody prior to or at least after questioning?

This is not going to happen, but lets say that Hillary runs with Bill as her VP, She gets impeached and kicked out of office or something in a month, and well, Bill is the president again. So, perfectly legal, an ex-president that has served 2 terms can not run for presidency, but he can run for VP, and can become president if something happens to the president. So for fun, do you think congress should refine the laws a bit more?

The goverment fined a fence company in San Diego $5,000,000for hiring 10 illegals. They also are asking jail time for the owner of the company & his manager. This is a first. Not the fine but jail. They goverment is asking for 6 months for each. The illegals were part of a crew that built a 14 mile long border fence in San Diego. The company sales went from $60,000 in1998 to $150,000in 2004. The goverment said they had employed 100illegals in the past including 6 that had been deported. Do you think this will make a differance in hiring illegals. not the fine but the jail?
