My ex-wife dotted my son's eye. When he got to school they sent the CPS to investigate me. Took me to the jailhouse to question me and all. When they couldn't convince the boy to say it was me they went and asked her. Her alibi was, "He fell into the corner of the couch." So the police dropped the investigation immediately.
What should be done about this? I have asked them repeatedly over the years to investigate repeated instances of abuse and they usually try to flip it over on me. Now if I don't report the incident I am viewed as an accomplice. Is there any proper course of action in all this?

ok, aside from getting MYSELF thrown in jail for HER abuse, is there any other realistic course of action?

There is no real easy answer here. I assume as the father (and not living with the children) you've done what you can to protect them. It seems like you've reported her, talk to your son and nothing seems to be working, and since she has custody the children can't come live with you. (or I assume they already would be)
My advice is to build a trusting and loving relationship with your sons so feel safe to come to you and discuss their situation. Teach them that hitting this way is not acceptable.
I'm sorry this is not much help.

Actually, you have two options.
1/ Get a lawyer and sue CPS.
2/Get a lawyer and sue the Police Dept.
There is a third choice, but you probably wont like it. Move to
another state, but make sure the police and CPS know where
and why you are moving. This would take you out of the
equation and leave only the mother.
Personally I would go with the first two options.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.
Thank you very much, while you're up

Man I feel for you! I'm kinda in the same boat. I told CPS and other authorities for months about the abuse my wife had committed. They simply ignored me. I filed for divorce! That was my only recourse of action! But at least the abuse stopped!!!
Now all the sudden they want to question my Daughter.
Makes No Sense!!!
Hang in there and God be with you!

Wow!!! You got a mess on your hands there buddy!
All I can offer you is to stand tall. Disagree with what her alibi is and pursue it.
You can actually file a complaint of suspected child abuse. Social Services will pursue it also but you have to be strong in your pursuit. SS doesn't take this lightly!
I know you don't want to intentionally hurt your ex (do you?) but we are talking about your child.
I know this because my wife is a paralegal...she investagates stuff like this.
File a formal complaint...

How old is your son? FIrst of all, you need to start protecting your son!!! Talk to a lawyer and start a case to get custody. If you really think he is in danger, HELP HIM. If you are just a father saying things about your ex ppl may not believe you, but if you have a lawyer, ppl will know you are serious. Plus they will know what course of action you need to take.

I went through the same thing with my ex-husband. KEEP CALLING CPS...ask the school to call. Talk to your son's school counselor & ask them to step in. THAT is when CPS finally started to listen...before then, they saw me as just the bitter ex. You have to keep fighting this battle because you're 100% right about them treating you as an accomplice and they can remove him from YOUR HOME...keep at it...
My thoughts are with you, Lynn

Keep up the paper trial with the cops. Tell his teachers to call if they see any thing and you call each time and take photos of your child`s bruises so you can keep them and keep notes that are dated and tap your phone so you have her on tape(radio-shack as a cheap one). Bug the mess of of the child servers.
BUT KEEP YOUR CLAM AT ANY PRICE>>> OK
Use a cool head.

I would have to say that you have done your job already. They have all of the police reports. You are not an accomplice. Children need both of their parents and they need both of their parents to get along for their emotional sake.

Yes. Report the incident. Also, see if you can encourage your son to tell the truth about his mother.
