It is deemed an illegal drug. It has altering capabilities thanks to the THC content. Hence it is a true drug.

Everything on this planet, is habit forming, and psychologically addicting.
now if you look at the very definition of drug, it is a substance that changes behavior and leads to addiction.
now anything a person becomes obsessed with can fall into this category:
sex, gambling, cleaning house, exercise, pot, caffeine etc.
ANYTHING!
so is pot a true drug?? yes it is. is it a gateway drug? No it is not!
there is no such thing as a gateway drug. there is such a thing as gateway lies though, such as the ones being told to minors by those anti-drug commercials. What do you think happens when a curious person tries a drug they have been told causes this or that falshood, and they find out it doesn't?? Hint: time to try another one! if anything, zero-tolerance it more of a gateway drug than anything else!
The only reason any drugs leads to using harder drugs, is because the same underground dealer sells them to, and makes more money off the harder drugs. this has been proven again again by foreign countries who have started to decriminalize marijuana use.

It is a true drug but it has some good purposes. It has been used in the medical field on some patients for various illnesses. I think if there was ever a drug that should made legal it should be marijuana...besides in some cases its probably healthier than cigarettes.
