If New York or Chicago suffered a significant terrorist attack : Dirty Nuke, Chemical Weaponry, or Biological Weaponry.. .... . then life as we know it in the USA is OVER !!!

Every dollar and every bit of transport of products goes through those 2 cities !! Gasoline supplies would be depleted, countrywide, in a matter of days, food and clothing supplies would also be depleted in DAYS, stores would close, massive unemployment would happen almost overnight, prices of whatever was left would sky-rocket to unimaginable levels. . . .. .. . . .. . .
AND they'd hit us again. . . . .. . . probably quickly !!
AND they don't even need WMD's, just several well-placed bombs, many of them for sure, but it's feasible !!

So why do some think that either this won't happen or just refuse to consider it's likelyhood ????

Throughout history, every great civilization has been destroyed by barbaric forces. Rome was taken down by the Huns, China by the Mongols. In each case, it was the "have-nots" conquering the "haves."
In contemporary times, the Nazis plundered Europe, the Bolsheviks took over Tsarist Russia and most of eastern Europe, and the Japanese spread through the pacific. Again in each instance, it was a case of a group taking the wealth of other countries by force. In each case, it was possible because those countries with the wealth became complacent.
Today the newest group wanting to conquer the wealth of the world are using Islam and its beliefs to raise their armies. Hitler appealed to the underprivileged by blaming their woes on Jews. The fascists of today appeal to the underprivileged Muslims by blaming their woes on the U.S. By doing so, they can raise a large army of "have-nots" to take from the "haves."
Fascism can never be eradicated from the world. It must be beaten time and again. Fascism has been festering since our last battle with it. It has risen again, and we must defeat it again.

Bottles I realize people are sounding like their being fooled, but I feel most of us also realize scenario's like this could happen if we let or vigilance and guard down. But as a regular citizen I choose to not live my life in fear about all the what if possibilities.

And as such, I'm not afraid to die. I don't want to die yet, but I can't stop every thing that possibly could happen to cause my death from happening, so I don't worry about it and go on living.

I also leave it to the officials to do their jobs to keep this nation safe and secure and do my part in voting in the people I feel will do that. Besides writing to your congressmen, there's nothing an average citizen can do.

I agree that we shouldn't put our heads in the sand and pretend it won't happen again, but we also shouldn't allow ourselves to live in fear, since it gives the terrorists a victory over us, no matter how small a victory.

New york did suffer a severe terrorist attack, as did Oklahoma City, and we pulled through because of our great country and citizens... And let's just look at New Orlean's, it wasn't a terrorist attack, but the entire city shut down, and it's still being rebuilt, but that's the point. It's being rebuilt. It's not so much that it can't happen, its that I have faith in my fellow citizens that if something happens we will rise above it and build a stronger more powerful city or nation than before. Of course, then again, I'm not a whining liberal looking for a hand out either...

I have considered the likely hood.

It would definitely be a major disaster. However, not the kind of
disaster you have written about.

You obviously have not worked in the transportation field.

There are other transit hubs through out the country. Things
would of course be slowed down for several weeks, but they
would not stop.

As in such cases as you describe, the loss of life is the true
disaster.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up

Most of the gasoline in the US is processed in Houston and arrives through the Port of Houston. If New York got bombed we might have a fashion emergency, but that's about it.

You should do some research on the port of Houston.

It is the busiest port in the United States in terms of foreign tonnage, second-busiest in the United States in terms of overall tonnage, and tenth-busiest in the world.

I think most of your post is correct but I also believe that there's a whole lot of people in our government that are working very hard to see that things like this don't happen.

I want to hear one more of the loopy lefys make some smart remark about the Islamist who were rounded up in Lackawanna, NY or the group of Islamist converts who were apprehended in Miami. Do they really believe that either of these goups were incapable of carrying out a horrendous attack against Americans.

Suppose the group in Miami decided to walk into a Miami Beach Synagog with automatic weapons? Suppose that the group in Lackawanna decided to mount an assault on the Niagra Power project that is the major supplier of electricity to the entire Northeast?

I just don't believe that the government is going to let things like this happen. It's like with the NSA telephone eavesdropping. The only people in government who are criticizing that program are those who don't have a clue about what's being done like that nitwit Leahey. He's criticizing something he knows nothing about. Watta maroon!!!

These are the same "thinkers " who denied Germany and Japan were a threat .Kept us unprepared to fight , our forces small and ill equiped .
They seek peace by making deals, giving in to threats , inboldening the ones we should be wary of .

Imagine 10 UPS trucks full of explosive going off on Wall ST.
Or next to schools , hospitals , police stations , Grand Central Station !!

Well, I am not so sure that we can do anything to stop it besides what we are already doing.

Do you stay awake at night dreaming of these things? Do you think that someone could be breaking into your house and murdering you too? It could happen. How can you prepare for it?
