and not have this nation divided as it is? i mean, when you think about it, aren't we all americans? the fact that we can spout our opinions on all issues just shows how great the freedom of this country really is! how about we put aside our petty differneces for a day, and remember the brave men and women who died in Pearl Harbor?

I guess only a parent could answer this question so here goes :)

My son will be arriving home for exodus on the 20th. I had planned to make a big to do about his arrival at the airport, balloons, signs, the whole family, but I've heard differing opinions on whether to do this or not. My work associates say to not draw attention to him when he arrives, as he will be tired and cranky from his trip, my family think that I should pull out all the stops and give him a "hero's" welcome. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

HEartstrings if you see this, i just saw your edit to my last question. I actually didn't find you really, more like saw your answers to prior questions and they stuck with me :)
Looking forward to hearing from you...how did you fare in the blizzard of last week?

The president is not the one that can declare war. He can only direct the management that does.

If people are so against the war effort shouldn't the blame be on the people who voted us to get into it ? as in congress.

I mean honestly, has the well run dry on having a actual dialog, or a positive thought? They've lost the election, Iraq is a mess because of them, and all I see on here is how Democrats love abortions and are communists. OUR MEN AND WOMEN ARE DYING AS YOU SMEAR ANYONE WHO DOESN'T AGREE WITH YOU.

What would you think? Also, do you think attacks in Iraq would decrease to almost nothing for that week?

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah vowed Thursday that the Lebanese opposition will not surrender in its mass protests to bring down the Western-backed government.

"Those who are betting on our surrender are having an illusion," he said. "We will not go out of the streets before we achieve our objective to save Lebanon."

"We insist on our demands, for the formation of a real government of national unity... because it is the only means to prevent any foreign tutelage on Lebanon, so that we have Lebanese decision-making."

Nasrallah also said that the protest was peaceful, civil and civilized, and pledged that the death of a 20-year-old Shiite opposition supporter after street fights on Sunday would not lead the protesters to violence.

"When they killed Ahmed Mahmud, they wanted to push us to clashes... I tell them... we refuse civil war and discord," he said.

Nasrallah's speech was broadcast live on two big screens to thousands of cheering opposition protesters who have been gathering since Friday outside the government s offices in central Beirut.

The opposition led by Hezbollah vowed on Wednesday to stage a new mass protest in Beirut on Sunday in a bid to topple the Western-backed government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora called on Thursday on the opposition to return to the negotiating table after his efforts backed by several key Arab and European states as well as the US to dissuade the protesters from continuing the unprecedented rallies failed to produce any results.

I was thinking of joining the military once I graduated college and becoming military police. I was told by several people that having that on your resume when looking for a police job can boost you past many other qualified candiates. If you are a military cop do you serve in war and travel like regular infantry? Any information on mp's would be great. Thanks in advance!

I returned to work after 7 weeks out for illness. My doctor provided a note stating medically cleared to return to work, also filled out FMLA forms provided by job (but did not give the specifics job wanted)( I thought my medical condition was private). after two weeks returning to work, HR rep stated that my FMLA papers were not filled properly. they gave me 3 days to have re-submitted or I will be terminated. I did not meet the deadline and they fired me.

We have completely dismantled a tyrannical regime, annihilated or captured its entire army, built a democratic government where there has never been one, suppressed all-out civil war thus far, and killed countless insurgents, laid waste to the Al Qaida's chain of command, compromising numerous terrorists secrets in the process, all with one of the smallest casualty counts in the history of the world (let alone the United States). How do you then conclude that we're losing the war?

Are all of our leaders in the federal government lilly livered little women? Who doubts that we could crush the entire terrorist network and all of its supporting states if we focused all of our energy and resources in this enterprise?
