and not have this nation divided as it is? i mean, when you think about it, aren't we all americans? the fact that we can spout our opinions on all issues just shows how great the freedom of this country really is! how about we put aside our petty differneces for a day, and remember the brave men and women who died in Pearl Harbor?

I dont think we are a divided nation. It is mostly just the politicians and the media that are divided. The common people are more in the middle and just cvote for the person they support more. Think about this, if I vote for a republican because I agree with 51% of what they say, I dont agree with them 100% and hate democrats. Its just that 1% that put me over the edge to the republican side. No one can see this because they see a vote for a person as them supporting that party completely and hating the other side. You should read the book Culture War by Morris P. Fiorina, its really good.

No! Our differences are too far apart! We happen to think that more than just Wasp's are Americans!

FDR cut off all supplies and resources to Japan well before the attack, and many believe we knew about the attack at Pearl Harbor before it happened!

It is no secret that FDR had been trying to get into WW !! for a couple of years before Pearl and was resoundly rejected by the Congress! Japan was a backdoor for FDR into WW !!!

And yes, I am sad about the lives lost at Pearl! I am sad about the 58,892 lost in Vietnam and the 3, 167 who have come home in body bags from Iraq, 17 in the past 2 days!

Why should we admit we were wrong when history shows that we were right on! Bush still can't accept the fact that "Stay the Course" is not an option in Iraq and he is about to lose that war! I was never for it, so I admit nothing except I TOLD YOU SO!

This isn't the only country in which you can spout opinions. I'm really tired of people using that as a reason to worship the American government.
And looking back, there were still people in the country not willing to go to war after Pearl Harbor. People just don't "get along." It's against human nature as we know it, at this point.

This whole thing wasn't necessary tho it was a small group in the White House that made some awful decisions, and lied and muddled the facts to accelerate the thing along. They have committed a crime. And theyre are still people that believe that Iraq did 9/11 and HAD WMD's because of the job these people did in selling their lies. It needs to be brought up so that we dont let something like this happen again. Alls you had to do was look at what happened to the USSR in Afghanistan in the 80's to see what was gonna occur here. But nobody listened

Yes but what does Pearl Harbor have to do with that. We should remember all soldiers that have died and take them as lessons.

Well this sounds nice and all but if you know you are wrong on a subject then you probably would cease holding that opinion. I think the country is great because we have so many different opinions. People are free to think what they want so what if other people disagree. You can't please everyone.

That would make sense. The problem is these idiotic Bush supporters and these idiotic liberals that will not admit they are wrong on anything. I'll gladly admit I'm wrong if I'm proven so. We need more of that.

If we could have a president that could have views of all the parties that could be a good thing. That would probably work well
