The president is not the one that can declare war. He can only direct the management that does.

If people are so against the war effort shouldn't the blame be on the people who voted us to get into it ? as in congress.

if you want to go that far, then why not go so far as to suggest the real perosn to blame is you and i for not upholding our obligation to stop government coruption. people forget that the people are also part of the checks and balance. that's they way thomas jefferson wanted it.

Sadly Congress never voted to approve war with Iraq but they did approve giving Bush very broad powers which allowed him to invade Iraq. Our fine upsatnding representatives were too busy receiving gifts from lobbyists and trying to seduce underage pages. The blame can be shared amongst all political parties cus there is certainly more than enough to go around!

after 9/11 congress gave bush the power to invade any country involved with the attacks, he linked iraq to 9/11 and invaded. the intelligence agencies had faulty information when congress voted in support of the war, but they didnt have to support it. congress never voted to go to vietnam but we were still there for a long time
