Yes, thanks to the Patriot act and thye Military Commisions act of 2006 a future preseidnet or Secretary of defense could do this very thing. Unfortunatly I fear by the time that we have such a administration in power Bush will be living comfortably on his Paraguay Ranch that his daughter recently sealed the deal on.

Paraguay was a haven country for Nazi war criminals and has no extradition treats with the USA.

Firstly, you are confusing things a bit. The MCA was enacted to appease liberals who were screaming about the so-called extraordinary rendition.

The MCA allows enemy combatants to be held extraordinarily at Gitmo.

Since Mr. Bush is a US citizen, either option would be inappropriate, as well as illegal.

A US citizen will still be afforded all due process rights under the Constitution, and nothing Bush has enacted changes that.

It's liberal hysteria to suggest otherwise.
