Do you all realize that whichever party wins the elections in November will greatly help determine which party will get in office as president in 2008? Vote democrat please!!! Blah Blah Blah. I am ssooooo tired of hearing it. We are there, we will be there until the job is done. If you think this all Bush's mess, think again! Members of Congress have to approve a declaration of war. Yes, the liberals, (including Kerry), agreed with the same intelligence reports that Bush saw.

Who supports the majority of the republicans campaigns? Oh wait I know, it's major oil companys, gee that couldn't be why we're paying threw the nose for gas now could it? Why d some republicans claim to be republican because of the abortion issue, then cut off all needed support to help single mothers be able to at least have a chance to stand on their feet? I don't know alot, but I"ve noticed that a lot of republicans around here were either born with a silver spoon in their mouth, or have been ignorant imbreds. Have you ever noticed how often times these, "moralistic" republicans children have ended up on drugs? Heres an example, theres a local cop whos son, by the way, 34 year old son, is a paint huffer and his daddy is always bailing him out of trouble, with his great political connections. All poloticians are crooked, but republicans are the worst, they'd sell out their grandmother if it ment there was a dollar in it for them. Vote democrat!!!!!!!!

(Bush talking about Iraq) "Iraq is making wmd's and they will be disarmed by any means necessary"

(bush on korea) "the US condems Korea"

Why is Bush being so hesitant to disarm a country that has made nukes when they jumped right into one that was said not to have anything by UN weapons inspectors?

I know the U.S. is a republic form of govt. It is also a Presidential form of govt. We are also a federalist nation.
But the fact is, that we live in what is called, an INDIRECT DEMOCRACY.
The Greeks had a direct democracy, in which the people held elections. The candidates with the more votes simply got elected to rule.
Our system is based on that ancient one, but far more complex. It is an indirect democracy. We elect senators and the House members to represent us. And when we vote for the president, we have the electoral college, which further separates our indirect democracy from a direct democracy.
I see the arguement used mostly by Republicans, who say that we don't live in a democracy whenever Democrats say that we do.
We do live in a democracy, as well as a republic form of govt. Please understand.

But why are many people so uneducated not to know this? It's kind of shameful to undermine our American ideals by stating that we don't live in a democracy.

So often on this forum, I see questions that are obviously right out of a history or gov't textbook (some, I think from mine 20 years ago!). I think it's great that kids these days have the Internet as a resource for knowledge, but does it seem weird that the can just get on Y!A and have someone directly answer their homework for them? I, for one, learned it by actually looking it up!

Don't misunderstand. I'm not judging those who post their homework questions or those who answer them. Ask and answer away...I just wonder how getting the info given directly to them without any research is a good thing. Any opinions?

Here's the scenerio, mother of my daughter is going out of town for a few days (found out from another person, she is trying to keep it from me) The ex has decided that instead of bringing my daughter over to my house for a few days she has set up a live in babysitter for a few days. This man, a very good friend of hers and his brother will be with him as he has to be. The brother was in prison and was released under his brothers care, he has to be with him all the time. The rap sheet is a mile long with theft, trafficking, possession and assault etc etc. We went to our lawyer found out options, we know what needs to be done and what we will be doing but just looking for opinions on what others would do in this situation. This will be taking place as of tomorrow night and the person whom was told about this, who told us made it clear to the mother it was not a good idea and should be definitely left with me or a responsible adult.

I went on www.familywatchdog.us
and was surprised to see how many sex offenders live in my nieghboorhood. I feel like telling all my nieghboors. They even have pictures posted. Its sickning what thier crimes were. I remember watching on the news of a mother who did something about it. I think she made a PUBLIC effort to warn all her nieghboors about THEM and the sex offenders family were furious. Has anyone done something like this or heard of it? What can I do? Whats legal and not?
