Ther leader of North Korea is considered a "loose cannon" by most of the countries that have dealt with him. NK has been known to sell technology and weapons to anyone who has the money to buy. Their economy is in such a shambles that they must rely on the sale of weapons technology to stay afloat. What if they develop nuclear weapons and then decide to sell them to a terrorist group? The same goes for Iran. They have already said that Israel should be wiped off of the map, so should they be allowed to develop the means to make it happen? This type of weaponry in the hands of a mentally unstable leader could have disastrous consequences.

North Korea is an extremely poor country due to being an outcast in International arena. That being because it has had a dynasty of unstable (mentally) leaders. Read about the current man and you will quickly understand that I am not just name calling.

Billions of aid from the west has been diverted from feeding the poor of the country to the build-up of a huge military machine. The west has stopped most support, partially because North Korea negated a 1994 Treaty with the US, and for many human rights violations.

The west is not so particularly concerned about North Korea's ability to bomb Seattle, but it's ability to SELL the materials needed to make bombs to terrorist organizations and governments..

Just think of all the consequences to this. A nuclear weapon could easily be delivered in the any international harbor or any nation in the world by Muslim or other extremeists.

China is the one major nation now supporting financially the North Korean regime. Without China's support the dictatorship would collapse. China, however, wants North Korea as a buffer against the American troups still in South Korea to protect them from being taken over. So there's a big messy problem.

Nuclear weapons are NOT, no not ever, going away. The USA has had them for 61 years, and is not an aggressive country without severe human rights provocation.

I hope what I have said opens some avenue of thought about this issue; read more to find out more, try to do bi-partisan reading as well, but just the current Bush bashing, or the Republican bashing of Clinton during the last administration.

All the Other Reasons Listed Here are Correct. One more worth Considering is the Possibility that Nuclear Material could be Shipped out of Cash-Strapped North Korea to Terrorist Organizations that would Attack the USA and Western Europe. Al Quieda and the Taliban have made it very clear that They fullly Intend to do so.

They are not afraid of N. Korea, they are afraid that N.Korea will use it or sell them to terrorist or other unstable governments. Nuclear weapons require a government to have a certain amount of stability and restraint. A nation that can't provide for it's own people is much more likely to use force to get what it wants than one that can provide for it's people.

It has been proven that N korea's dictator is mentaly ill. How would you feel if someone gave a shotgun to a mentaly violent man walking in front of your house. I know i wouldn't want him walking infront of my house loaded to the gills. That is basicly the same thing, no one knows who's house he is going to start shooting at but we all know that he will oneday. With great power comes great responsibility. N korea has no reality on responsibility.

No one knows who North Korea is capable of attacking or what they are planning on doing, if they have planned that far.

because north korea is a desperate, destitute dictatorship with its back against the wall.

Who knows what they'll do with it? Do you really think we can trust Kim Jong Il?

Now that is just plain crazy!

Do the words "Mindless NK Dictator" and "Clueless but slightly sensible monkey President" mean anything to you?
