The torture of Americans in Vietnam, Korea, and WW2 was sick.

So why do some Republicans support torture?

PS-If you start acting like a terrorist.....then you become one too.

I can not believe some of the answers some people gave, some are so stupid they dont know that if it were not for our armed forces, the enemy would be here whipping their dumb asses and making them work for a living instead of playing smart ***,
the military dosent get paid nearly enough as it is, and it dosent matter if they did sign up, most signd up to defend this country that you enjoy, But, don't do any thing to benifit it, or protect it,
but,you will pay some one to play ball or?? millions and a good percentage of them can't read or write, and then put down the one who defend you, because they want enough to buy a beer or pay their rent ??? how in the world can you complain about such cheap protection, ??

Am I alone in this?
What does it mean to you today? How does it make you feel?

A new poll examines the views of likely voters nationally and in 14 contested Senate and House races. The findings show strong majorities of Americans want immigration laws enforced and illegal immigrants to go home. One of the strongest findings is that the public overwhelmingly opposes increases in legal immigration of the kind found in the bill passed earlier this year by the Senate.

The results are surprisingly consistent across the country, both in terms of how voters see the problem, and what they want done about it. Unlike many other polls, the survey uses neutral language and avoids terms like "amnesty" and "illegal alien." The survey was done by the polling company inc. for the Center for Immigration Studies.

BAGHDAD -- A reconstruction contract for the building of 142 primary health centers across Iraq is running out of money, after two years and roughly $200 million, with no more than 20 clinics now expected to be completed, Parsons Inc. will walk away from more than 120 clinics, with monies for the projects already paid. This is an 86% shortfall of projected completions.By the end of 2006, the $18.4 billion that Washington has allocated for Iraq's reconstruction runs out.
In January, American reconstruction effort would be able to finish only 300 of 425 promised electricity projects and 49 of 136 water and sanitation projects. With the money nearly gone,. The Corp of Engineers and Parsons have agreed to a settlement under which Parsons would try to finish 14 more clinics by early April and then leave. Se. weeks earlier I had suggested that US contractors had done very little in the way of constructing any new clinics or hospitals. No one agreed with me. Especially the military

I sure do! As a matter of fact, let's let democracy happen right away.
Let's let their civilians vote on whether or not they want us there. THAT is democracy.

And after they vote us out, we can let them have their civil war. We can supervise from afar, and let the UN help in the matter.

Don't worry about possible terrorist attacks as a result. Our bases being there now doesn't stop them much more than it would if it wasn't there. All the bases are along oil-fields anyway. But that's besides the point.

We would be able to thwart any attack, which is highly inprobable to occur even if we leave, as long as the government does not once again show extreme imcompetence.

We will be fine.

Agree or disagree?

So, is it now fair to say that people voting Republican to try to outlaw abortion is a total red-herring so they can keep profiteering from this war?

You bet I would. However, it is the Republican party which wishes to rule by executive decree and with total impunity, circumventing the judiciary and where applicable, the legislature.
I would normally vote Libertarian or maybe Green depending on the candidate and particular needs for change, but if one party is going to grab for power, then I can't risk my third-party vote costing the U.S. all of its democracy.
Now it's the Republicans, but there are enough authoritarian Democrats that I wouldn't put it past them either.
Whoever grabs for an executive dictatorship will be voted AGAINST by me. How about by you?
