Florida and Arkansas are a bunch of amateurs. Look up the state which fries the most fiends. I will give you a clue -- it starts with T and it's not Tennessee.

I used to believe strongly in capital punishment. My opinion changed when it was proven a man on death row clearly could not have done the crime. And, the stupid prosecutor said it didn't really matter if he committed the crime. What mattered was that he had received a 'fair trial'. Blecchhhh!!!!

Now, I think capital punishment should be done on the spot by potential victims. Get a 45 ACP and learn how to use it and when some fiend comes around to rape and kill, blow his ****ing head off. When the police come, say there is no doubt of the identity of the criminal, it's him or what's left of him, right over there.

Not a good idea. There are far too many miscarriages of justice these days; and whilst I must say some crimes out there are not only disgusting but insanely committed, I do feel that there is always some reason behind every action, be it mental instability or mere wickedness. I feel that everyone deserves a good chance to be able to reflect upon their actions, rehabilitated, forgiven (after being punished) and given a second chance, no matter the crime. sometimes being put away can be worst than capital punishment. I really need to show that we are a lot more civilised than the generations before us.

Until you can establish a person's guilt beyond a shadow of a doubt, you cannot have capital punishment. Who can do that? There have been so many miscarriages of Justice in Britain that it would not be right to have capital punishment.

My state, Arkansas, still uses Capital Punishment (AS IT SHOULD) because there are just some crimes so heinous that death should be the ONLY punishment allowable. I'm a proud liberal, but when people go out of their way to commit crimes against children and the unarmed, the elderly and the Police, its just not acceptable.

My state (Florida) still has capital punishment. If you want a return of capital punishment you should move to a state that uses it, Weather it does anything to stop capitol offenses, it hasn't seemed to limit it in Florida.

Capitol punishment still exists in 38 states. There is just too much room for error in judicial proceedings as proven case after case since DNA testing became available. If someone tortured/murdered my daughter, I would want them dead, but I would feel like doing it myself. I think capitol punishment is wrong. It certainly doesn't deter murders or other crimes, and it teaches that it is OK to kill another. I feel it is much worse on a criminal to spend their life in prison and suffer than to just kill them anyway. And, spending their life in prison also gives them a chance to make atonements. None of us...have the "right" to kill another.

Well it depends on what level you are talking about,, public hanging ? don't think that would be a good idea ,,,now bringing back the belt in school ? that's a totally different kettle of fish my friend,, by teaching kids discipline in school at a young age would likely prevent half the crime that's happening today.
But there is one exception, paedophiles should be tortured horrifically with a dental drill and a blowtorch to the genitals, and then executed by whichever means the victim deems necessary, in public...

No. There have been too many miscarriages of justice in the past. Proven perpetrators of crimes that warrant a death sentence should be made to suffer for the rest of their lives, not be given the easy way out.
