I think that we should get a handle on illegal immigration, but at the same time people need to realize that just because someone is labeled an "illegal" does not mean they should be abused and mistreated. They are human and have feelings, hopes, and dreams, just like us. Everyone says that we have to pay for illegals' health care and education and that illegals are on welfare and get food stamps. If you're illegal, you cannot get those things! American citizens have a hard enough time getting those things. At least these people are willing to work.
It just really aggravates me when people say stupid things.
Good luck with your situation. Don't listen to what others say, I'm sure your husband is a wonderful man (I know my boyfriend is).

No, it's about consequence. For every action there is a consequence.I would not spend too much money with an attorney. There are several things that you can do personally to help him .Basically gather all the information that the immigration requires. It also depends on where you were married.Try going to a catholic charities, they can speed up the process and it does'nt cost as much.I had the same problem when I married my wife.

The thing about immigrants is that they come to America for a better life, but they often don't have the money to become legal citizens.
What I hate is the fact that if you come from a different country, then you have to apparently pay your way to becoming an American Citizen.
Isn't America the land of oppurtunity? Its mainly our fault that we force immigrants to become illegal.
Basically, it shouldn't cost money to become a citizen of the United States, but our government is simply messed up and conceited.
Also, many people are against illegal immigration because, basically, "what's it to them?" Since they were lucky enough to be legal, they fail to see the situation faced by illegal immigrants. Also, many people believe in the ideology that the law is perfect, and the law must be followed at all costs.
However, in reality, many laws change because they are unfair and different situations require different laws. Although I don't support illegal immigration, I believe there should and there will soon be laws providing cheap and affordable citizenship for illegals.

I have mixed feelings about illegal immigration. I cannot blame the Mexicans for wanting to escape their hopeless situation. I don't think many want to leave; I think they leave because they have no other choice. On the other hand, I've heard that they receive benefits that even I cannot get. (free medical care) My husband works a second job simply for the insurance. Even then, we still can't afford to go to the doctor. It's insane! I don't know how this issue can be resolved.

I think illegal immigration is ILLEGAL and should not be tolerated. I also have no pity for a US Citizen that chooses to marry an illegal immigrant then whine about the cost of making this illegal activity legal. That is the price you pay for breaking the law.

the issue of illegal immigration comes and goes w/ political trends..... right now we have a lot of people who are supposedly against illegal immigration..... while they benefit from the cheap labor that they provide to all Americans!!!!!
the best thing for you to do and to make sure your husband has a job where his employer can sponsor him...... (it is possible but not very common) and make sure your husband stays out of trouble and you will see that the politics of immigration will change w/ time and we will have some sort of amnesty where your husband will have the opportunity for citizenship!!!!!

Poor immigrants are limited to every country in the world that pays for services for poor people. We have to pay for their education etc. Why shouldn't money count? Otherwise our schools and health care get run down as the funds those who are not poor pay have to stretch to serve more people.
How is that fair?

it IS all about money
Thats all the government cares about. People should be able to live wherever the hell they want to anyways. We are all humans we all live on earth, we should be able to live anywhere on it. Humanity is just so stupid. I dont know if any of you believe in God or not, im sure a lot of you dont, but the day he comes down here hes gonna just slap the **** out of everybody for all the hate and stupidity that goes on
PS for all the whiners crying about illegal immigration, let me just say that if anyone is to blame to keep attracting illegal immigrants to the US, its the 'American' business owners that rather have illegal immigrants working for them, as long as they continue to only hire them (because they know they will work long hours for less than half of what legal citizens will) then that will be a problem that wont end. So if you care about it so much, then get your *** to one of them fields and work on them, then you can talk all the **** you want . . . hahaha that will be the day!

Then you need to go to legal aid or a Catholic sponsored legal service. ABA lawyers are assigned pro-bono, you can also contact them. There are several programs you can look into that minimize cost to you.
