I think in a perfect democracy everyone gets representation and I can tell you there are a lot of people with even stranger sexual desires and actions than Foley. Why don't they get represented? He shouldn't have been in charge of preventing people from doing what he was doing, but I don't see why he can't still be a senator.

He's been like this his whole career. Should all his votes over those years no longer count? It seems his ability to legislate is independent of his conduct in his free time. He should be punished but I don't think he needs to lose his job until someone else is elected by those who voted for him. Your thoughts?

The Student Teacher Safety Act of 2006 (HR 5295) would require any school receiving federal funding--essentially every public school--to adopt policies requiring teachers and school officials to conduct random, warrantless searches of every student, at any time, on the flimsiest of pretexts. Saying they suspect that one student might have drugs could give officials the authority to search every student in the building.

These searches could take the form of pat-downs, bag searches, or strip searches depending on how administrators interpret the law.

House leaders circumvented the usual legislative procedure to bring the bill to a quick vote. It did not pass through the committee process, but went straight to the House floor. There, it was passed by a simple voice vote, so constituents cannot even find out how their Representative voted.

Im not pure democratic, and im not pure republican. I have opinions of both sides. I am against abortion, but i think it should be allowed if the birth is going to kill the mother. Exspecially if the births gonna kill both mother and child...it's better to have an abortion and lose one life then both. you know? Does anyone agree with me on this or disagree? (please, no rude answers)

I am hoping for a little wisdom from those who have been there and done that.
I am now a freshman in college, taking International Relations and Arabic. I am also in the Army ROTC program. One of my main goals is to become an FBI agent.
I am doing ROTC because it pay for school, the army would hopefully be a good experience (especially for the FBI), and partially out of a sense of duty. I will be honest and say I'm not as gung ho as many of my classmates.
The one problem I have with ROTC is the required 4 years of service after college.
This brings up my questions.
First of all, in the FBI would I end up being transferred all over the place, with no real chance to settle down anyway?
Second, would being in the army for those 4 years truly make that much of a difference in my recruitment prospects in the FBI?
Also, any other wisdom you could offer about the Army, FBI, or anything would be much appreciated.

I hate these insulting, rude, obnoxious spots that are nothing but platforms for mud-slinging between candidates. I change the channel whenever one comes on now. Wouldn't it be better if they showed a commercial with the person's voting record, history, and viewpoints in an unbiased form so that voters would be educated and know WHO they are voting for?

As a ninja I have been wearing them for years and I usually have a huge sword and other nasty things with me, no one has ever said I shouldn't.

Then again I do it at night, and it is part of my training to never be seen, do you think there lies the problem?

I asked this question in the Politics section, and am still getting panned for it now!!
