This is a tremendous loss. Few journalists have provided honest reporting about the situation in Chechnya and Anna Politkovskaya was one of very few to do so... I suspect that this was a targeted assasination, perhaps by Putin's henchmen or possibly from the other side. Either way this is sad.

I doubt many people on this website would know about her, of course the US press coverage is nil. But have fun writing foolish stuff if you like, I think it is funny.

I never understood why republicans continue to support bush but admit that he lied about Iraq. Similarly democrats supported Clinton no matter what he did. What would it take for you to not support your leader?

Have we become so polarized that we can no longer debate important issues without insulting each other? Has the right wing stooped to calling everyone aginst bush a terrorist and the left calling the right baby killers. Why can't we have an intelligent debate anymore?

my girlfriend is a US greencard holder(permanent resident) for the past 6yrs now and she is elegible for citizenship.We are planing to get married so I could get my papers too but I want to know which one is better wether to wait until she gets her citizenship or do it now while she is filing her citizenship?Which one is faster and which way is the best for me to get my papers the quickest?Thanks

Before you rant and rave about this remember that the Iran president says that Israel should be wiped off the map one day and then say Oh we love Jews, and non jews, christians and non christians the next. And what's up with this continual BS from N Korea, setting off missiles and now setting off a nuke, just to get attention. It's just not right if you ask me, that when the world confronts N Korea and says that we don't like you setting off bombs and missiles in Asia, And they come back with we want 500,000 tons of rice. They have tried to cheat the system repeatedly by using fear and intimidation like Saddam used to just to get what they want. You can say all you want about the U.S. and other established countries having and testing nuclear weapons, yet putting sanctions on sadistic little gimpy countries for doing the same, and your argument won't hold because these so called super power countries don't rely on money couterfeiting and laundering and black mail to get what they want

The Republicans threaten women, and beat up their wives.

They love war but only if someone else's kids having to fight their dirty wars.

The have sat back and watched their "God" George Walker Bush bring in one Nazi after the other into his administration.

just let them fly and get all this ridiculous fear and anxiety over with. nuke the middle east entirely, nuke north korea, nuke pakistan india, basically any non white country. why live in fear!...yes yes i know north america will be nuked maybe 20 or 30 large cities but we will all be camping, big deal, we come back and rebuild.

that a goverment elected by the people for the people allows it's money to be issued and controlled by private interests. And also why is it that every country in the world is in debt. and to whom do they owe they money. Perhaps this is a question we should all be asking.
