My friend is married and her husband is a marine in iraq. He hasnt been calling her very often, and she seems to think he may be cheating. I told her I thought there are no women there for him to cheat with. Am I right or is she?

ok, I know Iraqi women are out of the question, but seriously, how likely is it for the men and women soldiers to be cohabitating?

You people can't, please tell me be serious. Do you think he might be busy? Three years in Nam I never called home, we could not, for God sakes grow up. You can meet and date Iraqi women or the ones in your unit or with the civilian contractor. What is she doing? If my wife were that jealous I would leave in a heart beat, and marry an adult with adult friends.

I will not say they can not meet women. Keep in mind that there are female soldiers there too and many come back pregnant. But as for meeting the Iraqi women, I am not sure many of them would be interested in them.
Now, as for not calling. It depends on what is going on in the area that he is in. I have not heard from my friend Ryan in nearly a month now. Granted we are not more than friends and I have a husband, I understand that his job does not permit for him to communicate consistently. He works sometimes up to 18 hour days and what time he still has of his day, he must do personal things such as clean clothing, if he can, and sleep.
Do not get too paranoid, he is probably just trying to do his job and sleep while he can too.

he might have met another g.i.. there are women deployed there as well as contract civilians. however, calling home is not always readily available, so don't jump to conclusions just yet. ask your friend how often he called before an why he is not calling the same amount now. soldiers get very lonely there and will do desperate things. i am not saying it's right, but that's how it is. by the way, you can get prostitutes on the DL. there are not just iraqi women there. there are workers from all over the world there. philipino's for example.

From the soldiers I talked to woman are not really available there for hanky-panky. If this is happening at all it would be with the America female soldiers. But what the guys coming back are telling me, sleep is the number one desired luxury.
Please have faith in your friend's husband, he is over there serving his country. It is no picnic for him. Perhaps he has trouble relating to those of us living the civilian lifestyle right now, maybe he wants to talk to her more than anything and he doesn't have that luxury.
Whatever the case, considering his current situation, now would not be the time to bring it up. He needs our support, not skeptical accusations thrown in his direction.

There are female service members. They aren't living in the same tents/rooms. If he wasn't a cheater in the states chances are he won't be in Iraq either. He is probably just really busy. He doesn't get to just sit around all day, watch movies and talk on the phone. He has a job today, especially if he is infantry, he has patrols to go on. Tell her to stop worrying. If he wasn't a cheater before, he won't do it now.

Marines can be anywhere, near where women are or remotely stationed. On the other hand dependant wives can be cheating

Has he cheated on her before or is she just insecure?She has to realize that with the military they are uncle sams men and they cannot call or contact her when she needs reassurance,maybe she has been doing this insecure questioning of him the last time they talked and he realizes he needs to stay focused on doing his job.These guys cant be going through alot of petty pitty me BS with their wives while they are over there.Sounds like she needs to toughen up a little,being a military wife is not easy but she has a man with character so I doubt if he is.

There are indeed women there. However, please keep in mind that his job may preclude him from being able to make frequent calls. He may indeed be far from any means of communication for extended periods of time. If he is in a field occupation (eg infantry), this is very much true.
My money is on his inability to call/contact home as often as she would like.
