Our constitution says that a member must be paid 2 meetings prior to be able to vote. We need to have officer re-elections at the second meeting and I was wondering if a motion can be made to bypass this rule for once.

if it is true that Bush removed Osama off the most-wanted list and he is now living in asylum in Pakistan? If Bush is OK with this, does this make you feel somewhat cheated by thinking Bush was so strong on prosecuting terrorists?

Does it really PREVENT crime?? Let it all hang out, here are some of my thoughts:
1) Government-sponsored Dial-A-Prayer
2) Something to let the police know where the dead bodies of crime victims can be found.
3) Something to make sure all the icky blood and shell casings are picked up after stopping for doughnuts and coffee.
4) Something to make anti-gun liberals feel like they have a chance of surviving. "I will shake this phone at you vigorously if you don't leave!"
5) A 1-900 number for people who get off seeing fire engines and police cars.
6) Obviously, a place to call and complain about poor fast food service. (Happened in CA, I kid you not!)

Especially in light of all the recent news about real calls being ignored and pretty callous behavior on the part of operators. Do we really need it? If it will not prevent crime, then why not just have folks call the station house directly....

Basically, if you receive the same non-contractual benefit year after year, such as extra holiday days or profit related bonuses etc, do they become contractual at some point, as you are led (year on year) to expect this benefit?

Both Dems and Reps both flip on issues all the time....Their goal is to win elections and they are going to take sides that they think will do that. Usually the opposite of the other....but both sides switch points of view and say different things. Does anyone else see that. It is our job as voters to look at both sides and use what limited information we have to make a decision...not take a side and then find info to support....agree or disagree? be honest and don't just defend your party because its what you are suppose to do...

Many American's realized now that the war in Iraq but not Afghanistan was a mistake, no WMD, no big welcome and a much worst off country than when we first came in. I've heard of some Iraqis wishing for the more peaceful days when Saddam was still in power. Now no one outside of Iraq likes Saddam but when faced with a foreign occupation or a local dictator, some might just vote for him.

Regardless, America made a mistake in entering Iraq. Now most Republican's say we must stay the course and leaving Iraq unfinished would be bad for everyone. That is up to debate. What should NOT be up for debate is who should be punished for this grave error in judgement? Should our troops pay for invading Iraq or do you this the Bush administration should be fined, jailed or impeach for bringing where we don't belong?

Do you think they intended there to be a war in the Middle East? What reaction do you think they were hoping for or what reaction do you think they expected?

I know its impossible for you to think like a terrorists ( unless you are one ) but I often wonder with all the planning it took to pull off if they once thought about the reation or impact , and if they had some higher goal other than killing innocent people, I don't know but I do wonder about it.

In 1954, Israeli agents working in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including a United States diplomatic facility, and left evidence behind implicating Arabs as the culprits. The ruse would have worked, had not one of the bombs detonated prematurely (oops), allowing the Egyptians to capture and identify one of the bombers, which in turn led to the round up of an Israeli spy ring.
Some of the spies were from Israel, while others were recruited from the local Jewish population. Israel responded to the scandal with claims in the media that there was no spy ring, that it was all a hoax perpetrated by "anti-Semites". But as the public trial progressed, it was evident that Israel had indeed been behind the bombing. Eventually, Israeli's Defense Minister Pinhas Lavon was brought down by the scandal, although it appears that he was himself the victim of a frame-up by the real authors of the bombing project, code named "Operation Susannah."

Is it antisemitic of me to ask this?

How come the young college men and women don't protest the war in Iraq by the hundreds of thousands? Young people their age is being killed and wounded. Back in my day we had thousands in the street getting the Governments attention. Are the college people wimps? Also, How come the college men and women aren't standing in line to go to Iraq? It's always people with GED or just out of high school.
