Ho ho. Funny man. There is no reason not to use the metric system. It's easier than having to remember all the imperial weights and measures. It's just pig-headedness and the belief that america is "special" and "different" from the rest of the world that stops the implementation of an otherwise standard weights and measures system.

Not using the vastly superior metric standards (SI units) has led to the demise of the UK automobile industry among others. It is OK for the USA to have a closed market because it has a vastly bigger consumer base. With us, however, we depend on exports and if their spanners do not fit our nuts then they wont buy our goods. Simple. And all those nostalgic for a dead system of measure ( good for when the UK was a major industrial base) then be aware of what is what. Follow your brains not your heart.
