Now that I'm out, and can't be "smoked" for asking this question. Why in the hell all the abuse in the Army? I mean I can understand P.T and training, and mental discipline, but I went through the last so called "Hardcore" bootcamp in '99 and only 30 made it past basic training out of 60 guys. It just seamed alot of that crap was uneccesary. I remember this guy that joined our unit, and he was small and they fuked with him majorly, I can't figure out why. They tortured him so much, that he lost control of his facial movements, and had slurred speach. They also made him carry 175lbs. on his back when he only weighed 130. Is it because on the outside you would get your asses kicked real bad, that in the military because you have rank and troops to back you up, you take it out on who you want? It was like never ending. It didn't make me tougher one bit. If anything I was more broken down after my 5 years than when I signed up. Wouldn't you want everyone to be in super shape?

As Chancellor, Gordon Brown has supported Tony Blair from the beginning.

He is the one who has acrued the financial resources that has funded the ongoing debacle in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has signed the cheques.

By the standards of Nuremburg and the Geneva Convention, he is complicit in the War Crimes of which Blair is guilty [as many of Blair`s cabinet past and present are].

On the TV and in movies you always see the archetypal evil diplomat who can not be arrested for his murderous, drug smuggling antics. What is the reality of diplomatic immunity? Surely NO society allows such serious crimes to go unpunished.

By the way, I'm not considering beginning a life of diplomatically immune criminality........just interested :-)

Where immigration is permitted, it is typically selective. priority is usually given to the educated, skilled, and wealthy. Less privileged individuals, including the mass of poor people in low-income countries, can not avail of these immigration opportunities. and thats why they come illegally, I criticise this inequality, because one of the main things a democratic system should have is equal opportunity.

Will you please keep Pittsburgh Mayor Bob O'Connor in your thoughts and prayers (if you pray). For anyone who didn't hear, he died of a rare form of cancer. Thanks.

The treaty is welcomed in Pakistan...and the Al Qaeda and Taliban can stay inside pakistan and keep their weapons as long as they don't attack Pakistani forces. It is sure that this would increase Gen. Musharaf's ratings in Pakistan....but how would a normal person outside of Pakistan view this treaty????

To some who shower us with their infinite wisdom on this forum, absolutely none. A yard gnome is just as ideologically driven, religiously devoted. He is just as capable of inflicting millions of dollars of loss and hundreds if not thousands of deaths. He is just as capable of operating and financing independent terrorist cells of other yard gnomes.

And the only reason he doesn't have a nuclear weapon yet is because his brain is just too small to grasp nuclear fission.

So, the next time he trips you on the way out the door, remember! It was an act of terrorism!
