I am not a racist, although it seems that I can be labeled one at a moments notice if it is convenient by some person or group to futher an agenda.
The word racist, had a definition (like all words do) and it is rather narrow.
Many people are ignorant and fearful of others, and have narrow minded outlooks on life. That is predjudice not racism. There is no real BELIEF in the superiority of of one race over another.
If you call some one, single person not a blanket group on a serious character flaw, and they happen to be of a different be of a politcally correct protected minotity, that is NOT racist. It most likely means that they are a jerk regardless of ethnic background.

Am I a racist? I guess it really depends on your definition. I've been called that many times just for my skin color and for being against illegal immigration. Actually I've gone to great extremes to not seem like a racist, including caring more for other races than I do my own. But, some very wise people of other races have helped me to see that it's not wrong to take pride in your own heritage, as long as you respect others. So let me put it this way--Hell no I'm not a racist, just don't expect me to apologize every day for being white.

It depends on your defination of Racism.
Once my high school principle announced the STAR test (a State standarized test) results, of which part of it were categorized by race, ie " the hispanic population as an average score of XXX showing a 30% improvement, xx% of the Whites improved in the science category, the Blacks scored x % above average"
He read the report right off the state issued results page intending to encourage the school or specific subgroups, yet it infuriated the students. They thought he should not segregate the population into race specific cateogries. It was as if it is wrong to think about one's self in terms of race. That if I am proud of being an Asian, then I must be racist, because I am thinking in racial segreting terms.

Everyone is racist. Everyone, at one point or another, either in their mind or to a friend, has made a comment about a person of another race. If you say you haven't, than you are a liar!!!!! It is human nature to feel that way, and it is okay, but when it goes to extremes, as the KKK, nazis or any group like that, thats when its wrong. But to say everyone doesnt have racist feelings now and again, is just plain wrong.

Racists is used so often by those that do not understand its meaning, those that have no real valid argument, and those just attempting to demean. If I told you that from my perspective I dislike the English and refered to England as a Nation of Mad Dogs, would you call me a racist?

James, making a comment about a person of another race does not make you racist. I once had a guy say to me I did not like him because he is black. I told him honestly that was not true. Then added," I don't like you because you are an *asshole and they come in all colors." not liking some one because they are a jerk does not make you racist. I have found white, hispanic, black, asian jerks. I have also found damn good people in the afore mentioned groups.

I'm a racist, but I tend to dislike everyone of every race, including my own. Until someone proves they aren't an idiot, I assume they are, since the odds are in favor of me being correct.
I don't like whites, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, none of them.

No,I've never considered myself a racist.People are people,no matter what they lok like on the outside.Have you ever heard the phrase"Color is only skin deep"?We all bleed red(I hope).Racism is for ignorant people who aren't brought up correctly. It's stupid, really.God made us all.So how can we hate something that is so great?Without diversity the world would be bland. But,not everyone sees it the same way.
And I doubt you'll get alot of honest answers.Cowardness and racism go hand in hand. They won't admit it freely, but you can usually tell by the comments they make.
