I have a ball python. What should I name him? How many mice do they eat a week? I've never had a snake before, so could you give me some info on taking care of it?

My land turtle was gnawed on by my dog for a few minutes. He scratched and bit off little pieces on the edge of the shell and drew blood in some places. The soft parts are ok. The shell edges are bleeding. Can anyone recommend anything special to apply to the "wounds"? Where I live, nobody treats turtles, only dogs and cats. The turtle seem to be ok, they cannot express pain! I applied some antiseptic, but put the turtle inside, as flies were beginning to be drawn to the blood. Thanks for any advice!

A neighbor gave my nephew a turtle, ( which means that I have to take care of it!). It looks like it has a black shell, with yellow and red stripes on its neck and sides. What kid of turtle is this? What does it eat? Can I just drop the food in the tank, or does it need something to eat out of?

I've looked everywhere on the internet but I keep getting things for fish. I need an aquarium that is more wide than it is deep or tall. I've heard from the people at PetCo that going to a reptile expo is a good idea but I don't know where one is going to be happening. My mom was going to build a pond but she didn't want to spend $1000+ on it. They're in a kiddie pool for now but I just wish they could have more space to swim. I'm willing to save up for a good, big one it's just that I don't know WHERE to get one.

I know that rat snakes prey on chicken eggs but is it possible for my chickens to kill a rat snake? The snake was fairly large (about 3-4 ft long). Also, will the rat snake kill the chicken or just go for the eggs?

Hi,
I have 2 turtles. They are red ear sliders. I've had them since they were babies size of a quarter. They both grew up together, ate the same food, same amount of food, etc. Yet one of them is significantly bigger than the other one. I would say about 40 % bigger. Why is this?
And also, how can you tell the sex of a turtle?
And one more...Can I take them outside and let them swim in a small size pool for few hours, just for fun and exercise? thank you
