There are lots of salamanders you can find in your yard. It depends entirely on where you live. If you're on the east coast and it's orange, then it's probably and Eastern Newt in the "red eft" phase. If you live on the west coast, if it's very skinny, it's probably a slender salamander; if it's bigger and black with grooves on it's side, it's an arboral salamander.
