I want a tortoise that can roam the garden and hibernate during the winter. I hear they can cost about £200. Does anyone know where I can get one for a lot cheaper?

I run an environmental education center with various snakes native to our state...(South Carolina). A co-worker brought me a small snake he found in his yard... It is red and black striped. Very small...maybe seven inches. There is no yellow, so I don't think its a coral or scarlet king... any ideas?

Last week I adopted a red footed tortoise around 11 months to 1 year old.
It is 9cm x 7cm (4in x 3in). It doesn't have pyramiding.
I want it to grow normal and healthy without pyramiding.

Diet:
What kind of nutrition should it have?

It seems that like a lot lettuce almost everything that eat 85%.
fruits not to much 5%, flowers 10%. is that right?

Is there any rule of how much food should I give it. Like a cup of
salad for every inch every week...

how often should I feed it?

Maybe I haven't noticed but I read on every website that drinks a
lot of water but mine doesn't. I moist everyday the dirt.

Strange:
Sometimes when it goes to spleep it burried on the ground is that
normal?

Housing:
How big should the space for it be?
I always have to get it out of "its house" is that normal?
How much should a tortoise sleep

It is a long stick with a hinged "hand" at the end which is activated by a trigger at the base of the stick.

I have seen these on TV, but never in person.

Plus, does anyone know where I can buy one?

She's a red-eared slider and she's had white patches on her shell since I got her, but it's getting bigger. When she sheds, the spots don't appear to clear up. I heard it can be from being in the water too much, so I only put her in the tank to feed her and let her drink water. Also, I put her in a fenced-in area in the yard to sun herself. I'm scared mabe she's in pain, but I don't know for sure. I've gone to websites that say to apply some chemical to her shell, but I don't know where to get it. HELP, I'M WORRIED ABOUT HER!!!

OK, here's what I'm looking for: my brother's three, so I need a frog or toad that's durable, easy to take care of, and easy to find if lost. So probably something large and colorful that won't hop away when being handled. Just give me the name and I'll google it. Remember: think of something that can't escape easily from its cage or your hands, something that's on a large scale, something that's colorful (non-poisonous, please! No cane/marine toads!) and can withstand the constand handling and examining of a three year old. Just remember those things and think of the best answer. Real imporant! Thanks!

My son's corn snakes laid eggs and now we have 12 of the prettiest little baby snakes I have ever seen! I think they are adoreable and they seem to have their Mamma's quiet temperment. They are the most beautiful rose colored little things and a few are white snowballs. Does anybody know a reputable way I can sell these precoius little creatures so they would get good homes? Do you know any good sites on internet that are reputable? Thank you.
