I've had Iguana's in the past, several of them. I know a lot about them but I know very little about Bearded Dragons...

we w have a bearded dragon and we thought about getting an Iguana, my son asked if we could put them together and the guy at the pet store said NO, they would hurt each other. He said they would need to be housed seperately.

I don't think the bearded dragon would mind tooooo much, but iguanas can be territorial and a little spazzy... doesn't sound like a good idea. If you were thinking about keeping them housed together that's a DEFINITE no-no. Iguanas are tropical vegetarians, and beardies are desert omnivores, there's absolutely no way you could properly house both of them together...

I don't see a problem with having them both in the same house, there's even a possibility you could have them both out at the same time without their trying to kill each other, I just wouldn't try to force any unnatural socialization.

Reptiles do not "play" together.
They may stress each other out though.
Bearded Dragons make great pets... Iguanas do not make good pets for MOST people.
Many people believe they know a lot about iguanas. If they can't keep an iguana for at least 5 years, they don't know much.

Nope. Infact they'll probably attack one another and require completely opposite setups. You sound like a beginner and you'd be better off with a bearded dragon.

not sure about dragons but iguanas are not social creatures. young ones are ok but once they reach maturity they turn nasty (especially the males)

I don't know about that one, however, I do know that "Bearded Clams" and "Oyster Shooters" get along VERY well. (My girlfriend is "Oyster Shooter," I am "bearded Clam".) YYYUUMMM!!!
