Has anyone ever seen baby box turtles anywhere in Virginia? 10 points to whoever tells me where to find them. And don't bother telling me not to take them out of the wild, because I wont.

So I'm in my yard fixing a spinkler, and this really cute little turtle just comes strolling up out of nowhere. (I'm amazed he made it given how many roads and dogs are around my house.) I got on the Internet, identified the species and got some info, gave him a shallow pan of water that he can crawl out of, and some wild blackberries nearby. He drank a lot of water, and ate some berries, but now he's settled in under a small bush and hasn't moved for 3 days. I enclosed a large planted area for his protection--it gets some sun, plenty of shade, has moist soil, and sprinklers come on 5 min. everyday. He's alive and alert, but he's just staying in that one corner. Is he OK? Is this normal behavior?

i have a california king snake ....black and white banded..its a male snake , about 8 years old .i noticed he was very active...so i went to get him a couple mice...when i returned he had grabbed his own tail and swallowed it...he is 4.5 feet long and he has eaten about 2 feet of himself.... i figure he will let go soon but he has been this way for over 36 hours...he is still breathing and still working on swallowing his tail.... do i leave him alone or is there a trick to get him to let his tail go....king snakes eat other snakes..even other king snakes so he probably thought his tail was prey..

My daughter has found a tiny baby frog, no bigger than a fingernail. She wants to keep it. Can you tell me what conditions are best for frogs, and what they eat? We have a large glass tank she could keep it in.

I have a 4 year old red ear slider turtle, and I was wondering what I should feed it? Currently I've been feeding it 'Hatchling Aquatic Turtle Pellets', which is what the guy at the pet store gave me when I previously bought another turtle. The 4 year old seems to love it. Is there something better for it, or something else it could also be eating? And also, how do I know how much and when to feed it?

I'm reading all of these news reports about hundreds of abandoned snakes in this state, is there an animal rescue looking for homes for them somewhere? I feel guilty buying one when there's probably some out there that need a home.

my husband was talking to this woman about a turtle. we have a African side neck turtle.. and he wants another one.. but she told him that she had the turtle since birth and gave him a list of things she does with it..

she does not have a heat lamp.. it is in a glass container in front of a window for the sun to hit him.. and she puts him in water 4 hours a day and feeds him.. what i want to know is.. IF i decide to take this turtle... do i need to continue what she is doing.. or do i do what i do for my turtle that i already have. Do turtles get used to the same thing or what?

I do plan on taking it to a vet if we get it.
