I have an aquarium and it has 3 snakes. 1 of the snakes is a red bellied snake. It just gave birth but we only saw 1 baby. Do red bellied babies frequently die at birth?

I had a redbelly a few years ago that had 18 babies. Unfortunately, I lost 4 immediately when they drowned, but the rest ate immediately and grew at a phenomenal rate (shed after each slug for the first few weeks).

they usually have 10 - 25 babies but if the environment is not comfortable enough, they can die in birth.
