My colt makes an ocean of his box every night. He ruins bedding and soaks the floor. I want him stabled so he gets used to being in a stable - Ive had bad experiences with his brothers that havnt been in stables, so I want him to be used to the whole idea. Is it wrong to only give him half a bucket of water for the night instead of a WHOLE bucket? I theorize it might teach him to be economical with it instead of drink -pee drink - pee all night.

I have 3 young kids (under 10) who would like a horse. They have all ridden horses and love them very much. I would just get them riding lessons or lease someone else's horse part time, but no place has any openings. I have thought about purchasing a small horse and having it barned at someone else's stable; however, how much does that normally cost? Do full service barns provide enough attention for a horse? I would love a horse and have always wanted one, so would my children; however, I don't think we could give it nearly the attention it needs.. am I wrong? Are horses content with just being around other horses? Thanks.

There is a bridge connectin' heaven and earth. It's called 'The Rainbow Bridge" because of it's many colours. Just this side of the bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, they go to this place. There is always fresh food, water and warm spring weather. The old and frail are made young again. The sick and maimed are made whole again. And they spend all their days runnin' and playin' with each other. But there is one thing missin'. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playin' and looks up! Their eyes are starin' in amazement! And this one suddenly runs from the group. You have bben seen; and when you and yer special friend meet again, you take him or her in yer arms and embrace. yer face is kissed again and again as you look into the eyes of yer trustin' pet. Then you cross The Rainbow Bridge together, never again to part.

I have no where else to go so I went here. I have a very sweet, loving rat who I am very close to. A few months ago, she developed scabs around her neck and ears. Our vet said it was mites and we gave her medication and cleaned her cage with bleach. That seemed to help and they went away but the scabs are back. Again, the vet gave her treatment but she did not respond to it and is getting worse. They said it could be fleas which is untreatable. Is there anything I can do to save her? It would break my heart to watch her die.
Thanks,
Jenn

I have a fairly good size lop. And she poops a lot. of course she comes up the stairs and poops on them and 5 minutes later I have to sweep them down again. I only give her 1 dish full, about. 3 small hand fulls, or 1very full cup. She gets all the hay she wants to eat.

I found a baby mouse this morning in my laundry room, and I put him in my hamsters old cage (it's very small, I put my hamster in it when I changed his big cage)anyway, I get home and he's laying down. I've been feeding him soy milk from a syringe. Once in awile he'll go on his back and his legs will go stuff, then after a few seconds he'll start kicking around the air. after that he'll just lay on his stomach. He can't walk properly, it's almost like his legs are numb, he'll try and drag himself around, other then that he doesn't move at all. Is he having the seizures? Is he just sick? Or is he just to young to move properly? He has fur, but his eyes are hardly opend. Any help would be apreciated! thanks!

stupid?

i asked a question about my puppy and the majority of you were nice and helpful but there is always those few who act like im completely retarded or that i dont know how to take care of my pets. i have noticed people act like that a lot when a question about a pets health is asked. i put in the first line of my question that i was taking my puppy to the vet because if i didnt i know i would get answers like "what are you doing on yahoo answers? take your dog to the vet" but even after saying im taking my dog to the vet people still feel the need to tell me to take my dog to the vet. but they add immediatley to it. like i called my vet and told her "yeah i need to make an appointment for my puppy, can you give me the furthest opening from today?" im a grown women and i have had pets my whole life. i know how to take care of them.

so my original question is why everytime anyone asks a question about there pets heath do people act like we are stupid?

I purchased a 4 month old rabbit from a local breeder.
It is a female (I was told.) It was, up until yesterday, running almost wild outside all the time.
I don't think it is adjusting well to being caged. It drinks and eats, okay. But, when you pick it up , gently, it fights and scratches and bites. If you try to pet it, to try to calm it, it squeals horribly and shakes.
I put it down on the kitchen floor while I cleaned the cage
and it raced away and hide behind the fridge.
Any ideas on how to get it out from behind the fridge ?
The fridge is too heavy for me to move. I tried it.
Any ideas on how to tame the bunny ?
Also, any ideas on a name ?
It is a New Zealand white rabbit.

I got a letter from AKC stating that a bill would soon pass requiring all dogs be spade and neutered, unless you get a permit.
Does anyone think this is a terrible idea? Is it wrong to rip out animal organs to justify inept owners that can't to control their animals.
Also it seems the only ones to benefit would be the government and vets for the money they will get from this.
