There is a small area around its butt but it reachs the end of its tail. The poo smells awful. Its soft. I can't pay for a vet and the local stores don't have wet tail or diarra solution; I checked. So far the only thing I can do is pray! Please help.

You did not go to the vet and you did not check for any medicine. Tell your mom if you can really go. If you are an adult then don't be lazy to go. That is all i can tell because i owned 156 and one had that disease and spread epidemically and only 78 remained. Some of my hermit crabs almost died because of those hamsters.

Diarrhoea IS wet tail. 'Wet tail' is just the general term to describe it.

You need to get the hamster to a vet - it will not be expensive to treat (like under $50, if not under $20). Diarrhoea is quickly fatal in rodents because it dehydrates them quickly and their bodies can't cope. If the poo smells that bad, this does not sound good, he could already be in trouble.

I'm not saying praying won't save the hamster, but a visit to the vet is much more likely too - and will be the answer to your hamster's prayers!

Diarrhea in small animals IS wet tail. Without veterinarian attention the animal will most likely die. If you can't afford the vet, all you can try to do is keep your hamster hydrated. Give it water through an eye dropper.

Probably wet tail. My sisters hampster died from that. Check with the pet store you got it from and ask if they could help her. Try over the phone first! ~*Alyssa*~
