stupid?

i asked a question about my puppy and the majority of you were nice and helpful but there is always those few who act like im completely retarded or that i dont know how to take care of my pets. i have noticed people act like that a lot when a question about a pets health is asked. i put in the first line of my question that i was taking my puppy to the vet because if i didnt i know i would get answers like "what are you doing on yahoo answers? take your dog to the vet" but even after saying im taking my dog to the vet people still feel the need to tell me to take my dog to the vet. but they add immediatley to it. like i called my vet and told her "yeah i need to make an appointment for my puppy, can you give me the furthest opening from today?" im a grown women and i have had pets my whole life. i know how to take care of them.

so my original question is why everytime anyone asks a question about there pets heath do people act like we are stupid?

Yes, its very annoying, especially when you're really worried about your pet, and trying to do everything you can do make it feel better. I think people who do that don't really know anything about the subject matter, and they just want to receive 2 points, so they simply say things. it is very annoying, and it got me annoyed so badly once, i just started reporting everyone who did that. Yahoo! took out the answers, so I was glad that happened. I hope your puppy feels better.

Some people think their funny for doing that. They don't realize, apparently, that their not. I always give advice personally but most of the time I include a "you should have him/her see a vet." Just because I can't be sure if I'm right. It's difficult to diagnose over the internet. Some things I have gone through, though, and I realize that those don't need a vet. The best thing to do is just ignore the stupid and immature answers and listen to the helpful people.

This is an area that people are passionate about. They love they're animals and want to tell people to do what they would do. There are minor problems that don't require immediate care from Vets, but they want you to take extra care of an animal they can't do anything for. I wish People didn't answer with" take it to the vet", every time there is a problem, but some can not know of a animal in trouble and not be very troubled by any perceived inaction by the Owner.

some people just have bad attitudes and think that they actually ARE vets themselves. they can be really mean and nasty on these boards. if someone asks a question regarding the health of their pet, i usually try to give my opinion, then tell them they should take it to the vet, because i am NOT a vet. the people on these boards do not have all the answers and are not always correct. some people answer with care and concern. those are the ones i would listen to. the other ones should well, take their dog out for a walk, lol.

Because it's easier to spew out a lot of condescending judgemental crap than to provide a valid quality answer. I suspect that most of the people who are so nasty don't have good answers, but still feel compelled to say something so they attack the asker. I believe that the people who actually know what they are talking about are the ones that provide the helpful answers. The ones who don't have a clue, but for some reason need to act like they do are the ones that are the problem.

Just like anywhere you go, there will be the nice people, and there will be the rude sarcastic ''know it alls''.

Many people do not read the entire passage before replying. They'll read the headline of the question, and jump to conclusions.

I usually put my two cents in, but at the same time, will actually ANSWER the question. The only things I really get ''cranky'' about is declawing and uneducated breeding.

Try to ignore the arrogant people, and just pay attention to the ones that are really trying to help. It's so nice to get real answers from people that are genuinely answering out of a spirit of community. I don't ask too many questions, but when I do, I have some really nice people answer my questions...I just concentrate on them. Like the first person said, there are jerks everywhere, so don't even pay attention to them or their attitude. :-)

A lot of people don't read posts all the way through, they simply reply with their standard answers even if half of it doesn't apply to the person who asked the question. There are also people who feel very superior when giving advice, and it shows in their posts.

I know it's hard not to take it personally, but try to let these things roll off your back and just take the information that is helpful to you.

It's one of the risks of asking questions here. There are people who answer without really reading the question.

I'm guessing that in their town the vets don't have any other clients and you can walk right in.

BTW, I hope your puppy is doing better. Possible constipation?

Because a lot of people seem to just read the question and not the explanation before answering the question.

Hope puppy feels better soon.
