I run a pet website and forum. I'm not sure what I can add or change to get more users.

Currently I have contests, brag boards to share your pets. Being a member is a free, but people who are willing to pay $3.95 get a few perks. Such as a forum only for paid members, the ability to upload personalized pics, and create participate in polls.

I'm looking for any ideas. Thanks guys.

I dont smoke but I was wondering. We found this lost dog one day and the poor thing smelled like an ashtray. We found his owner but I hated handing the dog over to him. I wonder if it causes cancer and emphysima and other problems in animals like it does people. It doesnt seem very fair to the animal.

Today I went to the pet shop to buy some new toys and treats for my three female rats. I also went in the back to coo at the new babies. However, there was a tiny cage tucked away at the side with two adolescent female rats in it. The sign said they'd been there a long time...I asked the girl at the counter and she said they were 3 months old, 2 and a half of which had been spent in that cage that was barely bigger than a shoebox. No toys, no nestbox, just sawdust and a bowl of dry kibble. They have two weeks before they're sold on for experimentation.

I have a rat cage 5'5" high that already houses my three grown-up girls. Females are easily integrated with each other. The cage can be divided into two living quarters until the new pair are quarantined and introduced. The only additional expense will be two more spoons of kibble a night.

But my mum will go stark raving rabid mental.

What should I do?

My rabbit gave birth to a boy kitten last August. When the rabbit gave birth i took out the father and put him in a seperate hutch. The baby rabbit is now 8 months old. Recently the two rabbits (mother and son) have been mounting eachother. I was wondering can they breed if they are mother and son and will it have an effect on the babies. Also when i put the dad rabbit with the mum they attack eachother, so we have to keep them seperate (dad in one hutch, mother and son in other). How can i stop them fighting.

Hi everyone, I just got a rabbit two days ago, and I've already taught it to stand up (with my help of course) and roll over. But I can't seem to find a good name that actually makes sense! I had another rabbit that i gave to my cousin. I had named that Snowball, because it was white as snow and grew as fat as a little ball when it ate lotsa food. Pleeeease help, because I can't think of even one darn name! Thanks, and please put names that you would name your own rabbit, NOT SILLY ONES Pleeeease! Thanks, love Saher!

My horse is turned out in a twenty acre pasture and I would sure love it if he would come to the gate when I call him. Any suggestions on how to do this? Right now he pretty much ignores me until I get to wherever he is in the field.

I am truely shocked by the questions on here which show an absolute lack of any knowledge on the basic care of a persons pets.
I am all in favour of a test to show you understand how to care for the animal before being allowed to take a pet home, where it's health and well being rests solely on your knowledge and understanding.
When re-homing my bunnies, I provide care sheets to refer to, samples of feeds, useful websites and my contact details should they have any other questions, as well as thoroughly questioning the new owners so that I know they will give my bunnies a good and happy home. Should pet stores be made to do the same?
