Had this same problem so here are some of the things we tried.
Stay round the clothesline with a hose and squirt the dog each time he goes for them. Problem was my dog loved water, and usually did it when we weren't home.
Then we tried putting curry and/or chili on the toes of old pantyhose, but he loved the spices.
Then we tried water filled balloons hanging off the line. He popped them and thought it was a great game.
Try to fence off the clothes line, he could jump everything but the 6'6" outer fence.
In the end to save the clothes we had to get rid of the dog. But perhaps you'll have better luck.

The only thing that worked for me when I had a dog that did this was to put the clotheslines up higher to where the dog couldn't reach.

Video tape it and post it on the internet. This sounds like it would be funny to watch. The only thing I could think of is to raise the line.

There's this spray you buy in pet stores.
Its called "Bitter Bite, Sour Apple Spray, No Bite, No Chew, ect..." I think there's also a powder too. You could spray your clothes or powder them and the spray doesn't have a terrible smell either.
