Its pretty easy watch them and when your ferret looks like he is about to go pick him up and put him the litter pan. It may take a few times but it will work. Also if he does go on the floor show it to him and tell him NO! Then put him in the litter pan. Also keep the floor clean. I have 2 farrets that run the house in the day and stay in their cage at night and while they are out the go back to their cage to potty and this is how we tought the to

try putting all his droppings and all of the shavings or pellets he peed on in the litter pan each time he goes to the bathroom and then keep the litter pan in a corner he/she prefers or uses most often. Then keep the rest of the cage clean and soon he will begin to associate the smell of his litter pan to his "bathroom" and start using that instead of the floor.

i do know that you have to keep the litter pan REALLY clean or they won't use it.....i kept one on every level of the cage too....that helped a lot.....try keeping them in the corner they like to use most....and you may have to clean it three or four times a day....i did....mine would only use there pan once or twice....then i had to clean it....

on a daily basis placed all his poop interior the clutter pan and clean something of the cage. this is hassle-free to get ferrets to poop in a tray yet getting them to wizz in there's a touch trickier. merely verify the pan consistently is composed of clean dropping and a few weed-on bedding, and something of his cage is clean. in case you honestly SEE him soiling his cage, p.c.. him up, say "NO" firmly and placed him interior the tray. on the comparable song, in case you notice him going interior the tray, determine you have a cope with reachable! Ferrets are very sensible, he ought to p.c.. up with out put off:)
