My bunny has fur mites and I can't afford taking her to the vet after paying for her broken leg. I'm broke now, how can I get rid of her fur mites in an inexpencive way?

If money's an issue, I would still get the veterinary products because petshop stuffis unreliable if not useless. You'll end up spending more on petshop stuff trying to find something that works than if you just go straight off for the more expensive vet stuff that works!

Also, what do you mean 'fur mites'? I think you need a vet to check exactly what parasite your rabbit has so you know what the correct treatment is. If you've just paid out for a broken leg, a little mite treatment is going to be nothing on top of this! It is usually just a drop on the neck, it's not expensive.

Do you keep her indoors or outside in a pen? I suggest that you start keeping her inside.

There are products for treating mites, but it's hit or miss whether they work. You can bathe her in warm water and cat shampoo for starters then comb her out thoroughly. Treat her with the stuff after she is dry (or according to instructions.) Bathe her every week until the mites are gone.

you can get it at a pet shop, but you can order ivermetin over the internet it's $40 and givin orally or by injection and prevents them and others parasites. ps. ivermetin is meant for cattle, but small doses are fine for rabbits, i treat all 13 of my rabbits twice a year, and have no parasite problems
