I'm sorry, but whomever said that 'every rose has its thorn...' and that PETA is for the ethical treatment of animals needs to do some research...taking dogs from a shelter, saying that you will find homes for them, and then giving them injections to end their lives...and THEN pitching their bodies in a dumpster is NOT ethical.
PETA is out to end all animal ownership, so if they had their way, you can kiss your companion animals goodbye.

They are hipocrits.
For instance in Australia, they had a big thing about mulesing sheep. That means they shear off bits of the sheeps bottom. The other option means not cutting into the sheep. What they forget to mantion is that when they do nthe second option, maggots can get into the sheep, who then eat it from the inside out. It basically means a slow painful death for the sheep.
And the executives of PETA aren't exactly great either. One was asked what they would do if they had the choice to run over a child, or swerve and hit a dog. He said he was at a serious impass.
As for the comparison between PETA and ASPCA, that's BS! The humane society puts animals down out of neccesity, and give them a chance to survive by putting them up for adoption. What was the reason for the 1325 dogs PETA killed?

i think of in my opinion, from journey... that when a canines or cat gets pregnant multiple situations, it leads to well-being subjects and doubtless loss of lifestyles. i be attentive to from journey, I definitely have had an extremely specific cat who kicked the bucket after her 2d liter, she develop into purely 3 years previous! Died while the babies have been a week previous, which left us to improve 5 kittens (3 survived). anyhow... to the subject count. i'm not against peta in any way, because of the fact a number of their stuff is definitely very authentic and wakes multiple us up and facilitates us comprehend what's raelly happening interior the international with all of those billion dollar agencies and how they're only making all this money from us, together as they proceed to kill harmless animals, so in no way am i against peta (i'm an extremely vast animal lover!).. whether, over breeding a canines is undesirable and not a pleasent lifestyles, think of in case you have been a woman canines, and you have been consistently pregnant, consistently raising little doggies and having to handle being seperated, it would not look exciting, and it is doing her no sturdy. canines shows are exciting to show screen, yet once you think of roughly it, the over breeding is incorrect. whether they are not completly precise on their counsel, my canines is an entire blooded beagle and we definitely have a a million/2 beagle, my complete blooded beagle is a 300 and sixty 5 days older than the different, and he or she has in no way been to the vet for a disease, yet my mixed breed went while she develop right into a domestic dog for the ordinary "parvo". So i'm torn, i don't be attentive to the place i'm even going with this answer anymore lol. nicely i assume i'm only asserting peta is optimal, however the help from them isn't precise.

Yup, everyone was once under the misguided impression PETA was actually pro-animal.
In fact their ultimate aim is to stop the practice of keeping pets altogether. They're trying to convince people that an animal is better off in the wild and we should never have domesticated the animals in the first place. I can actually see where their narrow-minds are coming from - but they're overlooking the tiny factor of the human-animal bond. Anyway, read it yourself from the horses mouth:

Ingrid Newkirk is the founder of PETA, and these are her lovely views. I think she's been warped by her early experiences as a pound officer in New Delhi.

Yeah, I have a problem with that too, not only that, but they were caught red-handed throwing the carcasses out in a dumpster, how bout that???
I take in orphaned kittens and when one of them dies, I have soft velvety handtowels that I wrap them in and then I bury them in the flower garden under my balcony.
Whenever I see a dead kitty lying by the roadside, I will go get some plastic grocery bags, pick the kitty up, tie the bags shut and take them home and bury them at night in the flower garden underneath my balcony.
Don't tell my landlord!!! The flowers always grow taller on my side of the building!!!!

It's common knowledge that PETA is a group of hypoctitical extremists. They compare owning domestic animals to owning slaves. My animals love me as much as I love them. I don't force them to do work. They do what they want, sleep in my bed, get fed much more than they would in the wild and play games with me and each other. Nothing like slavery in any sane person's opinion.

Every rose has its thorns!
PETA is for ethical treatment of animals just like the ASPCA and HSUS.
Both of these organizations, ASPCA and HSUS euthanize more animals, puppies, kitten, healthy adult dogs and cats, and sick dogs and cats - in which they decide if its worth treating their condition based on what it would cost them to treat an animal with a totally treatable condition.
Number of cats and dogs euthanized by shelters each year:
3-4 million (HSUS estimate)
http://www.hsus.org/pets/issues_affecting_our_pets/pet_overpopulation_and_ownership_statistics/hsus_pet_overpopulation_estimates.html
Something to think about.
Just to Clarify: Speaking from experience first hand, ASPCA will euthanize a dog with totally treatable condition, that is just too costly for them to treat. I'm talking about treatable conditions like, tooth absesses, sarcoptic mange, heart worm infestation, broken limbs, and partial blindness/deafness. Also have witnessed partial birth abortions on pregnate dogs who were close enough to birth naturally just to ensure she gets spayed. No body is counting those puppies in their stats!
