Several factors have to go into a choice. How much space do you have? How much time for attention do you have? Do you want a long haired or short haired pet? etc. I am partial to Shih Tzu dogs. We have 3 and have decided to keep their hair long. Grooming is expensive at over $150 a month but if you like a long-haired dog they dont shed. If you want a short haired dog, dont get a long haired one and shave it. Decide on a few breeds based on individual preferences and research each breed carefully on the internet. If you are leaning on a cat, sorry I am a dog person and cant offer advice. Good Luck.

You looking for cat/dog/bird/lizard/fish?
Any cat'll do, they're pretty mcuh the same. Get a shorthair if you don't like hair everywhere.
Dogs...For small dogs, Rat Terriers are great. They are people pleasers, relatively easy to train. Bigger, go for Goldens or mutts. And ALWAYS make sure you get dogs from a good breeder, not a pet store.
For fish....I haven't had fish for years, so I'm of no use there. Same with birds/lizards/turtles.
Good luck! (P.S. try looking at the pound for dogs as well, they always need adopting.)

If you never had a pet before the easiest pet to have is a hamster because all you do is make sure they always have fresh food and water and clean their cage every week. Fish aren't easy unless you are willing to go through all the trouble of conditioning their water, keeping the proper temperature, and cleaning out a fish tank is no easy task.

any type of rodent, dont expect any good times with it, they have such small bladders, that if u hold them, they pee. Plus cleaning the cage is gross, stinky, and annoying after awhile. Cats can some times be playful, but mainly are independent. personally i dont know anything about cats except there lazy and dont play. I m a dog fan. I have a golden retriever about 8 months old. She's 50 lbs but loves to play, Only barks when there is something wrong, and has alot of personality. I'm a huge dork, and i have no friends. My parents are alwyassssssss out of town, And my pup is basically my only friends. She plays fetch, sits plays dead, and has great personality. I would go with dog. But please dont get a Maltese poodle and name it Toby

I think my bunny definetly choose us. I convinced my mom to go to the pet store just to "look" but of course i had other motives in mind. I went to where they kept all the animals and in a pen they had alittle white dwarf rabbit. The lady at the store told us that there used to be four but all of the others were adopted. I picked her up and she let me cradle her like a baby. (( she was only 2 months old )) The lady laughed and said that she would never let anybody do that until i came! My mom saw me and immedietly raised the red flags telling me not to get any ideas. Then I made my mom hold her. Before I knew it we were picking out a cage.

well you need to give more information, but in my opinion fish are allways good pets, you dont even need a big aquarium, a small one which you can easily clean, fish dont require much attention, you dont need to walk them, and feeding is easy, depending on the type of fish you get, ( if you do) ask the clerk how to feed your fish and what type of food, fish also make great decorations for your house/aptment., get a fishhhhhhhyyyyy, with time you should be able to eat from between your fingers and give you kisses, lol, good luck with your selection.

Cats are mostly independent.

Dogs rely on a little more.

They are both wonderful animals it is up to you on what kind of pet you want. Best of luck in choosing!!!

Choose a cat. They're great companions and they're no trouble at all. Just feed them, change their litter, and love them.

Fish. they dont bark, dont crap on your floor, feed them once a day, and when they die you can make fish sticks. dogs are ok, a lot of work though. cats are my fav but u need 2 or they get depressed.
