I know its possible to determine whether a horse is under or over the age of 7 years but how can you differentiate between the ages of, say 11 and 15 years?

We bought her off a man named John Oswald and he did not know too much about it. Well i have searched countless times over the internet and the brand is supposedly east asian calligraphy or a cinese symbol meaning "gold". I can provide a picture but any information regarding it could help me. The reason i want to find out about the brand is so i can see maybe where she came from or who bred her, if she raced, etc. Please any help is appreciated no info. will go unnoticed! :D

hey there i have just got a 4yr old unraced T/B and he is a great horse but when i ride him he is very hot headed. he is fine to lunge, but when it comes to riding he wants to take off, he throws his head around, he bucks, and generally mis behaves. in the paddock he is great, but soon as he even sees the bridle he starts. i am currently feeding him 2 dippers lucerne chaff, 2 of the oaten chaff, 1 of the bran, 1 of the barley and 1 of the calf perform. plus hay as there is no feed in the paddocks. could the feed be sending him nuts? any answers will be greatley appreciated, thankyou

I bought my 2 new guinea pigs home yesterday. They are about 8 weeks old. They were absolutely terrified so I've done my best to talk quietly to them almost constantly and stroke their little noggins when they aren't hiding (which is 90% of the time). All afternoon they only ate their poops and hay which I know is a good thing but when I gave them some greens, chopped apple and carrot they didn't touch it. I left it in the pen all evening and overnight and took it out this morning, and gave them fresh water and dry food with vit c and probiotc supplement in it. Should I be worried? What if they've never been fed fresh food before?

OK, so I have my new guinea pigs. They came home at lunchtime on Sunday and have been observing me from the pen with an expression that clearly indicates they think I'm nuts, and am definitely not to be trusted! I've bought them a bag of timothy hay which is being hoovered up at an extraordinary rate from within said pen, but I'm a little confused. Should I offer 'regular' standard hay in their sleeping quarters and timothy hay in the manger, or is it desirable to provide timothy hay throughout? Also, what constitutes Timothy hay? When I have contacted feed merchants re bales they just say "we have hay". Helpful.

Take dogs and cows.. If a dog is killed ppl will mourn his death.. ppl can go to jail if they kill a dog or a cat any kind of "pet" animal.. Lots of ppl are outraged becuz of horse meat.. then look at cows there is a 10 mile line at mcdonalds with tons of ppl wanting to eat them.. They are all animals.. but my conclusion on the matter is becuz we have specail relationships with "pet"animals such as dogs, horses, cats, so on and so forth.. "Mans best friend" "Faithful" and " Trustworthy" are things ppl say about "pet" animals but " 2 for 1 deal" at a fast food places on "others." Why do u think ppl tend to freak out over thier deathes but not of the deathes of the poor cows and chickens.. I know how they are butchered becuz my aunt is a rancher.. So I know alot on the matter..

I used to have two dwarf hampsters and I had them in the same cage... I saw them fighting occassionally (it was the smaller one picking on the bigger one) and I didn't do much about it because I thought they were playing. One night I got home at 3 in the morning and I heard them making a lot of noise, so I went over and took the bigger one out and he was bleeding on his nose, ear, paw, back and underneath him. I kept him somewhere safe and left a note telling my parents what happened. They still didn't do anything and I wanted to keep them safe so I thought about taking them back... well that never happened either. So they were fine again... and a few weeks after that I got back home and it was 4 in the morning... and they were still there. The next morning I woke up and no one was home and I wanted to play with them... well I looked in the cage and my hampster was dead... chewed on on the neck (it was so gross) and he was like... flat. Is this normal for them to do stuff like that?

Hey, my guinea pig is about 2 years old nearly 3 and if i stroke her further down her body she jumps and runs around the hutch. If i stroke her any where she still runs away and twiches its really weird.
She also hates ANY! dry food i give her, ive tried everything and she just always eats the straw/hay that i give her for bedding. She also does not drink alot.
What is a matter with her? ANything serious?

because everything i buy to go into water keeps dying because its a weird shaped aquarium from japan and it had a wierd filter in it that i couldnt replace for less than 300 dollars so i didnt use one, so i decided to just give up on water and put some sand in the bottom and put a scorpion in it, but i'm not sure about a scorpion and i'm sure i dont want a tarantula, so what else could i put in my aquarium besides a lizard or snake or tarantula or scorpion and thats not aquatic

Ive read sites ect but I need to talk to owners and know your personal epxerences of them. I love the little things but are they really as medicly needy as they seem? I know that they need vaceines and they are prone to certen diseases, somthing I can handle.
I know that they dont stink horribly if you take good care of thier hygene :)) and that they arent vicious or bitey if you train them. i need to prove to my mother that she would love the little fur balls (she really would) but she needs enough to give them a chance. Please share your ferret storys :)
