my friend bought a rabbit for her daughter for christmas and ever since the whole family havent been well they are always getting viruses and colds and bugs i wondered if there could be a connection?

Yes, Leptospirosis ,to name one.

Also "any" eye related condition cany be a problem.
The rabbit eye is almost "identical" to humans.

So much so rabbit eyes have used in studies and research
for humans for decades.

no... i doubt it...

if you are worried then talk to a doctor and a vet

but i have bred rabbits almost all my life and found no indication that you can catch things from them

but to be on the safe side

give them their vaccs and make sure you have had your jabs

but to be honest i really dont think you can

but thats my opinion

it is not your rabbit.it is the time were people catch colds is all a coincidence
