Other - Pets - February 2007

I am extremely busy and can't volunteer, but what are some other ways? I was thinking about giving money, food, that sort of thing, but what else? Please help.
(I am typing this for my 6th-grader friend since I am a much better typer than her)

this morning I was visiting our local zoo when I stuck my hand into the snake cage. the sign said do not touch but There was a little mouse in the cage I wanted to pet. all of a sudden the humongous snake chomped on my hand. It feels all tingly and is purple and blue but It did stop bleeding about an hour ago. no doctors are open today so anyone got any home remedies?

I have an 8 month old Holland Lop. I am planning to get him neutered in a few weeks. I love to have him out and playing around the house the problem is he poops everywhere. I know that is one way for them to mark their territory but this is seriously handfulls. I tried to Litter Train him but he did not want to be. I need help.

I bough a turtle. It dies. 4 fishes. 2 died. I'm thinking of getting a hermit crab ( at least one) for my tank. It is about 5 gallons and I'm planning to remove the two fishes. How many should I get and what are the most nessesary items I need to buy for them? I don't want to spend too much.

My family is going to start a horse business
We plan on:
Selling/leasing horses
Training
lessons
Selling equipment and tack
boarding
having a summer day camp
trail riding
and we may even race horses

We're planing on having three arenas (one indoor, two outdoor), two barns, a conditioning track (if we keep racehorses), a house for my family, a paddock, and trails.

When I leave home and university I want a pet, a low maintinance pet, so should I have a Rat or a Bird?
I will also hopefully be a nurse so I want a pet that will be happy by itself for hours.

Is this always the case?

If it is, then I think it means my guinea pig is threatening me to give him a treat. Lol.

I'll give him his food, but as long as I'm in the room he'll refuse to eat it, and will start dashing back and forth, hopping over his dish, then standing up on his back legs. If I pay no attention, he will then start to click his teeth at me.

Is he just throwing a fit? Being a brat?

He will also intesively scream at me if I walk out of my bedroom without giving him a treat.

Are these just acts of being spoiled? Seems like it.

But anyway, yeah, does the chattering mean he's getting mad at me for not giving him a treat?

My male teddy bear hamster has been sleeping a little more lately.He sleeps until pretty late,then he gets up and starts to explore his cage,and run in his wheel.He also resently got bit by my female,but it looks fine.Why might this be or is it pretty normal?He acts fine when he is awake.I think all hamsters are different,and this is just his life style,am I right?Help.

hi everyone
we have been giving our horses sweet feed. but we found out thats not a good feed. it is to sweet, gives them energy and rots their teeth. well we have a horse that is hurt and now in a stall and is going to have surgery. and we need a feed that doesnt give her energy. we also have horses in training. so i need to know what you guys think is the best feed that keeps a horse as calm as possible.

Well I got a pet rabbit, and one day I saw that it had something in its eye, so when I checked it out I saw he had poked it or something and it was infected!.
so my brother said to take it to a vet, but we really cant afford to take him right now, and I was wondering if theres a shelters on anyplace where u can take a rabbit, and leave him in a shelter were they will take care of the rabbit and than put him for adoption?

I got a Guinea pig and i have had it for a couple of weeks i really want to hold her but i get so NERVOUSE so i dont hold her can someone please give me adivce so i can start holding it cause if my dad finds i out i am scared to hlod her then he will return her and i had her for a while and i want to keep her! I want a pet. I would have a cat but I am super allergic to them, same with ferrets and rabbits. I want a pet that will be ok to be alone for about 5 hrs a day monday-friday. Any ideas?

I am a typical woman, i cant stand anything with more than 4 legs! Snakes, rats, hamsters, i can cope with them, just spiders and any other animal with more than four legs i find really creepy!
