heres what you can do to help the rabbit...make some hot salt water, soak a washcloth in it, wring it out, hold him down and cover both eyes with it for at least 10 minutes...wait 10 minutes and do it again...do this several times, and get neomycin ointment and rub it around (not in) his eye. do this several times a day for 1 or 2 days, and as long as its just an eye infection, he will get better...promise

ps this also works on people...

pps omg how did we ever survive before doctors and vets were invented!?!

Shelters do take rabbits. That is probably your best option. At the vet the medication for his eye would probably cost 20-30$. Take him to the nearest shelter and they will happily take him and nurse him back to health and then he will go to a loving family. The shelter will be your best option and he will get the best care that can be offered there. I hope this helps.

Alot of shelters will help you take care of the animal for a really cheap price, Of course its gonna be alot of money, but its really well worth it if you really love your rabbit. If you cant afford a vet, sometimes they give u a monthly bill that yu can pay off little by little, but you wanna help your rabbit and really cant afford it, a shelter helps you on payment plan. they usually do it for cheap or free depends on your shelters income. Like most shelters in my area gives free animal vaccines and spay and neuter.
I really wish the best of luckto you and your rabbit

A rabbit with an infection is serious and you need to take him to the vet immediately. They use rabbits for lab experiments because they are easily infected. Take him to the SPCA. Or see if there is a House Rabbit Society near you (they will adopt it). But do something without delay or the rabbit will get sick and die.

Definately. Call your local animal shelter. If you can't find one, call the vet clinic and explain your situation. They can tell you of a shelter or place that can help you. I do have one suggestion, though. You may want to call the vet and explain your financial situation. I board my horse at the sister of a vet and I know of people who can't afford to care for some of their animals. They get to make payments on the care. You pay like...$30 down and montly payments. It doesn't sound like it would cost hundreds of dollars to treat this little guy. You do need to get it taken care of RIGHT AWAY! I would call your vet tomorrow. Explain....Ask them if they can help with treatment and take payments. If they can not, (they really aren't worth a damn, if you ask me, but...) ask them for your local humane society information or animal shelters. If all else fails, call your local police station. They may be able to direct you to someone that can help. You are a good person for caring for the animal instead of letting it suffer. You need to act very quickly with this. Do it right away tomorrow. Good luck and god bless you and your poor little rabbit.

SALT?? ARE YOU INSANE??? I have veterinary tech schooling...you should NOT put salt in your animal's eye. A warm compress with water, yes. NOT SALT
