why do dogs pee on fire hydrants?

dogs and similar animals have a sixth sense. they can sense, and sometimes smell the water or water pressure, and voila! they gotta go. you ever hear running water when YOU have a full bladder? then think how your dog feels..lol

A good one, my dog love to pee on them too eventually I bought a old fire hydrant and plan it in my garden.
He loves that and he pees like 20 times a day on it.

They're essentially saying "I was here" and "this is MY hydrant." It's all about marking territory and communicating.

because they are just there and in the open dogs are attracted to red things.
