HMMMMMM a animal a-c-t-i-v-i-s-t well if your one of them PETA people your definition of animal abuse will not be the same as someone elses, everybody does not humanize their dogs you dont really explain the animal abuse you are referring to so we cant really answer, I know some people that think having a dog outside is abuse but its not if you arerealistic and want to know why people abuse their animals TRUE abuse then they are sick if you look at some of the past serial killers like dahmer or bundy they had a history of animal abuse in the beggining you can research it its true..

I am not sure why, but I am so glad there are some animal rescue groups out there. We adopted a boxer puppy. She came to us with an ear that was halfway chewed off and a spot on her leg with no hair that has never grown back. That makes me feel better because I was a part of the adoption process for abused dogs. I have 3 dogs but am always looking on the boxer web site for dogs for adoption - not sure what will happen but I love my pets!~~!~

They are cruel and don't realize that pets have feelings too. It's sad but I think they are giving stricter punishments for animal abusers which is wonderful.

Mental illness. Animal abuse is usually an indicator of other abuse going on in a family.

Sometimes it is ignorance.

i wonder the same thing. it breaks my heart to see a pet abused. they are helpless and so devoted. i see my dog sad, happy, scared and always wanting to please. and bedtime means cuddling. hubby said "no way that dog will sleep in our bed" well guess who takes the dog to bed, covers him up etc. pets are just like children. we get them, love them and in the end we come out on the raw end cause they don't have long lives like we do. so at some point we have to let them go. too sad

because they (the abusers) need shooting. because they should be forcibly sterilised to prevent them breeding any more evil little b*st*rds. because their ancestors weren't hunted down & slaughtered like cattle as soon as the bad gene showed itself.
