Because of this.. i have to change the water... my aquarium size is 6 X 2 feet... is it because of the algae on the glass??? i always scrap the algae using the algae scraper..

does anyone know the solution for this??? like traditional methods perhaps.
Thanks!

3 years ago I got two goldfish, but last year one died. Do you think he's lonely and would like a little friend? I haven't got another goldfish yet because I kinda just thought they were reaching their life expectancy but I heard they can live for decades and this one's hung on for another year so I dunno why the other one died. The tank is big enough for up to 3 fish but I think I'd just get one if I do get another one.

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anything can be mistaken for ICH. I recently bought a new fan tail 3 days ago and put him in quarentine. After the 1st day I noticed several white spots on his body and fins so I put about 20 teaspoons of salt in the tank. (its a 20 gallon tank) So anyways, this morning I noticed the spots were gone. I was under the impression that the life cycle of ICH was around at least a week. How could the spots be gone after 1 day?

I tried to pull the worm off my star fish but it was inside as well. My star fish is doing fine I think, however one day a growth was on it back so I remove it, it was like hanging and hard so I removed it. Now there a half inch growth yellowish, red around some side. The growth is lodge in between the peck around the center of the back of the star fish. The same place where the worm went inside. As I look to the side it look like eggs and than when I look down on it it could be pus. What should I do? I do not have another tank to put the star fish in and I'm worried about the other fishes in the tank. Two clowns, and one shrimp. The star fish color is fine, she not slimmie, she move around the tank, she eats, This growth was not on her two days ago, now it big and look like it what to pop. I've being going throught this with her for about two and a half week now. Since the worm went inside her, I though I killed the worm when I pulled it off. Does anyone know what I should do.

how big of a tank do you need for 2 small angel fish

2007-07-05 14:39:09 · 7 answers · asked by marshall 2

i got 2 new angelfish about 4 days since in tank and their about 2 inches. anyways, i have two serpaes in the tank and ive been told that they will be fin nippers but they havent even gone nera the angels. The black one i have has perfect fins, no sign of nipping. Ive never kept an angel fish before.

problem:
the white one swims aroung like a normal fish would but slower. this is said to be normal however, the black one sits in one spot behind a rock. He hasent moved from that spot for 2 days now. He looks perfectly healthy and eats if food gets behind the rock. He doesent come to the surface when i feed them.

questions :

is this normal?
Is it sick?
what should i do if anything is do-able?

help appreciated.

p.s : the fin nippers honestly havent payed any attention to the angels.

For these little fish i dont have a filter or anything for them. I have 2 of them. They are little tetra fish. I got them at Wal*Mart and it was the fish that didnt even have a filter for like the oxygen bubbles so i got them because i nkew i wouldnt have one so maybe they will live awhile and that would be kewl. Well to get them a little bit of oxygen would it be a good or bad idea to lift them in and out of the water about 3 times real quick so they can get a little oxygen but it would quick enough for them not to get scared. Sorry that was so long. Please and thanks for the help.

she is 13 and has never had goldfish before...she asked me if I would get her a couple when I asked her what she wanted for her late b-day present (I haven't seen her since october and her b-day was in december)...so I took her to the store and she picked out a twenty gal tank, black gravel and blue pebbles, a live bamboo plant, and a skeleton pirate tank decor---it looks awesome! to go in the tank she picked out a white mystery snail, and two black goldfish (the breed escapes me...we bought a book on them...starts with an "M" and has bubble eyes...I'll check the book later) right now the fish are only 1 and 1/2 inch long -to- 2 inches long each so there is room to grow-
anyway the tank means alot to her and she did a great job making it look really cool and naming the fish to match the theme (large fish=boot strap bill, small fish=captain tiny fin, and the snail=first mate eat poop)
is there a way to keep the water clear w/out a filter?
OR
what kind of filter is best for this tank?

I have 2 goldfish in a tank at home. One of my fish started lying down and getting stuck in the plants. I stirred the water and then she moved. When she was swimming she sort of got dragged down and she was weak and getting stuck to the filter. I turned the filter off because I didnt want her getting hurt but they cant live without the filter.should i buy a treatment?

Woke up at 7, fed my goldfish, turned the light on for an hour, went to work, lunch at 12, turned the light back on until i got home around 6. Around 12 the temperature was about 75, got home it was 82! I keep hearing I need to give them 8-12 hours of light. But the light heats the hell out of my water. Give me some feed back. My water also is kinda cloudy. It's a new tank and only had water in it for about 2 days. Helpmuh out............

Ok, i started a 10 gallon aquarium and added a few live plants and fish. Well a few days later i started spotting small snails (2-3) crawling around. I knew they must have been in with the plants, and didn't mind. WELL. Now i have about 65 snails! And to make matters worse, i can see the egg sacs they leave all in the leaves of my live plants....i don't want to kill them, but they have taken over my aquarium! What should i do?

I have a 3 gallon tank with 2 platies in it now. Before when I have had 3 fish in the tan one or two has died. I was wondering if putting an ammonia reducing tab in the tank would allow 3 fish to live in there.
