Can I add a plecostomus to my aquarium of cichlids?

I'd like to have one, but I don't want it if it's gonna turn into somebody's meal.

I keep my 4 inch African cichlids with a pleco. The pleco has always been about the same size as the fish, but now he is growing a bit larger. I'm assuming you have a bit of rock work in there already for the cichlids, so the pleco should already have something to hide in.

If the fish is large enough not to fit in there mouth and theres cover for him to run too they're fairly tough. So yes
