In my fishtank there is three goldfish (but not really goldfish) they have like three sided tails if you know what i mean, but anyways and also a algie eater and i need help with two things. The filter in my tank has a little gap in the bottom in it big enough for the algie eater to get in and he does. what can i get to cover that but still let it filter the water. And i have had the tank for like a month now and the water is now having small bubbles on like the perimeter of the top of the water, is that ok?

Ok I havee a few questions:

1. My first live bearer to give birth was last Thursday. (She is a mickeymouse platie) Ever since she gave birth she seems to not be feeling well. Her top fin has stayed low most of the time like shes not feeling well still or upset. Her color seems a tiny bit off but I am not sure. Maybe a tiny bit blotchy. She hides more then the others. But she dose come out.

2. My black mollie had 17 babies yesturday. Since my first gave birth in the community tank before I figured it out I am not sure how many she had. Ive only found about 7. (some proubly got eaten) But this is my question: I've read they usaully have more like 30-40. I put her back in the community this morning thinking shes had all shes going to have. Is it common to hold some and have a few more in the next days?

3. how do you get the babies out of those net breeding boxes with out squshing them? 4. it seems they poop alot right before birth. Is this a coincadance or a signal?

I have neons, danios, a gourami, a dwarf african frog and a mollie. I am the kind of fish dork that will actually stare at their little community of fish and watch interactions and health of fish every day. I have been noticing that my mollie is getting beat up... but by who?
I watch and no one ever seems to even bother with my little guy. but yet his head has had some wounds. They are healing. And now a chunk is missing from his dorsal fin. WTH? I don't get it.
My fish are pretty docile and all seem to swim around pretty oblivious of each other. Could it be some wierd disease or is someone really attacking him? Water levels seem ok - A little ammonia that I am rectifying with 25% water changes but even that seems like it couldn't be enough to cause this...
I am at a loss. Thanks for your help...

i have 3 pregnant, female guppies, and i was wondering why one of the guppies are attacking the other two when they get near her? she has a dark tail, and her whole eyes sometimes gets completely black, why? is she getting ready to give babies? and i got these females from a female only tank, is it possible that she is pregnant from being in this tank? how do i tell that she is pregnant?

What should I do? I already put her back in the tank with the others since then, but I'm worried she might have them in there and the others would eat the fry. Her gravid spot is still black and pretty big. But I have noticed that it's gotten a little bigger though. Should I take her out again?

I have 4 normal goldfish, 3 Calico fantail goldfish and a black molly and an orange coloured molly, a gravel cleaner and an algae eater (pleco?) and now 16 molly fry (seperated in the breeding tank still, one week old). I have read that goldfish and mollies cannot be in the same tank together. Why?? I have had these guys for about a month in the same tank and they are fine. I have a 55 gallon tank, filter, heater, real plants, gravel. I do a 25% water change every weekend. Water temp is at 80 degrees. Have been offered about 20 guppies approximately 1 month old now. Will they work with the mixture of fish I have and how many could I take? Thank you in advance for your answers!!

This betta's about three months old, but within the past two weeks, I've noticed that his fins have started to fade to the point where they are in fact transparent. He also has a bulge of some sort beneath the gills and behind the lower fins. His fins also appear "stringy" [he's a crowntail] and his coloring has faded immensely. He eats when he's given food, but he seems scared whenever anyone approaches the tank. He looks unhappy and I don't want to try to treat him for the wrong thing. Thank you for your time and effort!

About 7 inches long. One is kinda chasing the other around with its mouth open. The other vibrates when it is close. They generally get along and always eat & sleep together. Right next to each other. Does anyone know of any videos that are available showing courting or mating oscars?
