I currently work at a pet store which specializes in fish and Bettas with neons are quite common. You should not have a problem. However, Neons are schooling fish, they will survive longer, and have less of a chance of being picked on if you have a few instead of just one. The Betta may pick on the neon for a couple of days, but then will get bored and quit. I have NEVER heard of a pleco eating fish. They are peaceful algae eaters. Clown plecos are a great addition to an aquarium, but you need to be careful because they can get very big! The only time they may become aggressive is when they feel threatened. Good Luck!

You can keep those fishes together successfully as long as the neon is large or jumbo. Either the Pleco or the betta might est a small one. However, I would not try to keep any 3 fish together in a very small space, say less than 10 gallons. Paradise fish look something like a betta but I have found them to be just as pugnacious (not that the betta is that bad anyhow) and then you have blue gouramis and blue platys too as alternates. There are other blue fish but all that come to mind are rather rough for a betta and would tear his fins up.

I'd nix the neons, they do best in schools, at least 5 of them. But, they die so easily, save your money. The clown plecos actually are schooling fish also, they do best in groups but should be ok alone. They need a piece of driftwood to munch on-need wood in their diet, as well as shrimp pellets, and algae wafers. They grow to about 5 inches, so make sure it's a good size tank(not a 5 gallon). Otherwise, to answer your question, yes they all should get along ok. If you don't want to go with the betta, could always go with one of the gourami varieties.

Sure they can. Remember bettas do not like high currents. Neons need to be in groups(your betta will not eat them). Clown plecos, although do not exceed 6-7", are really not good algea eaters. They also require wood(driftwood) in their diet. Hopefully you have a 15g+ tank, and its a great setup.

you need a big tank to house these to prevent aggression. female bettas are much less aggressive so try to get a female. its likely the tetra will nip at the betta but in my experience theyve done well together.

usually yes. how big is your tank? if you have a large tank i would suggest an assortment of blue female bettas if you desire blue fish. other blue fish are paradise fish that are related to bettas and some cichlids and some gouramies.

Sometimes Beta will eat the other fish, but I wanted to put neon tetras with my Beta...so the research I found said tetras were safe with Betas.
I'm not sure about the Clown Pleco. Just don't put two Betas together!

I had that exact combo together before with good success.
Just don't put a female betta into the mix.

Not likely, the tetras will probably kill the betta. How big is the tank? The pleco is going to be big.
