I have 3 grown mollies and need to know if I can put them with a cichlid.. my boyfriends friend brought about a 10 inch long oscar and put it in our tank so now there was no room for mollies and i have no tanks with air pumps besides the one with my cichlid, so i need to know if it'd be okay to put them in with it?

oscars and cichlids are meat eaters, you can never house them with anything but meat eaters. also oscars get very huge im talking 12 inch long huge so you need a very large tank to house just one. mollies are tropical you can add them with fish like tiger barbs, cat fish, bala sharks & korydoras.

What kind of cichlid? There are over 2000 species of cichlid. The mollies can do ok in a big enough tank without an air pump. Don't ever flush fish. The fish get flushed into the horrible water and usually die only after days of suffering in your waste water. They get burned by chemicals inside and out before they die. If you feel the need to get rid of fish, find a store to take them or put them out humanely with clove oil.

well, i can house em if u like and if u live in hyderabad too.
well, u can keep them in a bucket filled with some water from ur running tank for a while until u figure out what u want to do with em.
and u dont need aeration as such, all u can do is change 50% water daily (just make sure u use atleast 3 day old stored water and not directly from the tap); it' be fine

The Oscar will eat any kind of fish smaller than it is, including other oscars. I definately wouldn't recommend putting them together. Most pet stores will allow you to bring your fish in for store credit..its a good alternative to killing the fish.

Please don't do this as cichlids are more aggressive fish. It would be like placing a little round lap dog in the rink with a boxer or pitbull, and the little guy would not stand a chance.

Oscars will eat anything that fits in their mouth. So if you dont mind your molly's being lunch for the Oscar, then go for it!
