I had 3 fish in my tank. One I have had for about a year and a half, the other two I only had for about 3 months. I changed my water and the fish were fine for about 3 1/2 weeks. I didn't over feed them either. When I went to work, all my fish were fine. When I came home they were all dead. My Bottom Dweller (pleco) was floating dead and was a mottled green color. My other two fish were these little blue fish, but don't know what the name of them is. When I found them dead, they were grey and brown and at the bottom of the tank. What can cause fish to die within a few hours for no apparant reason?

We have a new 5gal tank and the pH level is high. We added four Neon Tetras and a GloFish Danio. The Danio died, we tried again as the store said that high pH won't matter and it died too. So we have decided we have to bring down the pH level.

We transfered out 1 gallon of water and put in one gallon of reverse osmosis water but that didn't drop the pH level much. We'd do two or three gallons but are afraid that the Neon Tetras will die due to the sudden change in pH or the stress.

Do I have to worry about the Tetras? Or should I leave them be as the stress or the drastic change in pH may kill them?

The reason I ask is because I've gotten mixed reviews from people. I have two of them in my 55 gallon community tank, and they are great. They stay together all the time and don't bother any of the other fish, even when other fish get in their way at feeding.

I have a very successful 55 gallon aquarium, which hosts a number of small fish including many tetras and mollies among others. i recently purchased some small hatchets and since yesterday has died and the other is showing signs of ick. this is my first aquarium so i'm not certain what to do but am afraid i will lose the whole tank (including my prized stingray pleco). any advice for the rookie?

I have a male and female picked out, and I have been conditioning them for quite sometime, but only because my female has caught a slime/fungus disease. I am treating her for it and she is getting better. I want to do something else though, just to be prepared. I ordered a microworm culture and it will come soon. Is there anything else that I should get ready? My tank is all set-up and ready to go. Sponge filter, submerseble heater set at 80, no gravel, plastic wrap over the top, jars for the fry, and a cup for the male to build his bubblenest under. What else can I do while I'm waiting for my female to get better and my microworm culture to come and then set it up?
Thanks!
