If you scratch, does that mean you have fleas? Fish can get things that are kind of like fleas. Parasites and such can attach themselves to fish by getting in under their scales. Even big fish, like sharks can be host to other parasitic fish. But just because they look like they're scratching, doesn't mean that they have "fleas".

fleas live on land and breath air & cannot survive under water last I knew. So fish get a different type of "flea" called parasites.
The two main types of parasites are external and internal. External parasites include many types of microscopic ones not visible to the human eye, as well as larger ones such as fish lice, gill lice, anchor worms and leeches. Flukes, tapeworms, spiny-headed worms and roundworms are the four main types of internal parasites.

Fish don't get fleas, but they do get lice, I'm not kidding, look it up. The fish scratching themselves could be a number of things, but nothing too serious. Hope this helps!!:0)

First, I want you to think about that long and hard. Can fleas live underwater? NO. Fish cannot get fleas. However, they can get other external parasites that I would guess are just as irritating for them.

I feel you may have requested a first-rate query. I'm truthfully presently debating this with my Catholic loved ones at this very second. My spouse is vegan and from the study that we have got performed, flesh is flesh, like one of the most different posters has already stated. So to reply your query why is it good enough for Catholics to devour fish for the period of lent? Because the Church stated so. I am a Christian and even though I do not trust the Catholic Church and its "religions" now and then, I've noticeable it convey persons towards a courting with Jesus Christ.

I believe fish can get parasites because in the sea little fish 'groom' the big fish to get rid of them.

They don't get 'fleas'.
